Thanks you June. I think I've now got to the bottom of the advert thing and have found out the point at which YT seem to be changing the settings. Hopefully now they will only be at the start of my videos
Thanks Gail - I don't mind ads at the start or even at the end but it was the proliferation of them through out the videos that were bugging me. In longer videos YT were inserting them every 2-3 minutes which I felt was spoiling my enjoyment of watching. I think I've now got to the bottom of it and hopefully they will only be at the start of my videos now :)
The effect with painting solid colour first then dendritic pattern on top was a surprise and another surprise to see an image unfold with pen. New to me, thanks Kylie. 🌿🌻🌿
Thank you for a most interesting video, Kylie. It was fascinating to see what you got from the various types of paints and so on. I think the red ones looked rather Christmassy so that's food for thought! I think this is going to be a very interesting month!
Thanks Elaine - the metallics did work best this time. I've had good results with the neons before but I think those particular bottles are now getting to the point of being past their best.
Thank you so much Kylie, I really really love 💕 those prints and I really really love 💕 the metallic ones best. The gold is really really stunning and gorgeous. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
reminds me of my childhood when the windows would freeze on the inside. also, the net curtains would stick to the ice inside. maybe that's why i love frosty patterns! x
Yes indeed - I've noticed that car windows get great patterns on them and I've often been stood outside on very cold and frosty mornings taking photos of them!
P.S. the close ups made me see how gorgeous the gold metallic came out. Plus seeing them displayed on the experiment sheets made me think how beautiful they would look all three in a row mounted on one of those sheets and then framed! WOW!!!!
Thanks Evelyn - yes I think metallics worked best here. I think it must be something in the paint. I've had good results from the neons in the past but I'm nearly at the end of those bottles and I think the paint that's left is now past its best.
Love this technique....and the fact you've done a lot of the experimenting on our behalf. I have done this before using glass coasters so, if I can find them, I might have another try. Thanks for sharing 💗
Those cards turned out very well. I always enjoy those random , uncontrolled effects. I have to say, that gelli plate with all the paint on it made me want to see what a clean up print would Reveal. Don’t worry about the commenting too much! Life can be overwhelming sometimes, and with the number of members MME has, I could imagine that it would take a long time to catch up.
Thanks Ellie - I also like the not knowing exactly how something will turn out - and some were good and some not so. Thanks for what you say about commenting too
Hi Kylie! Well another inspiring video this week. I’m off to the laboratory, AKA art room, to do some experiments of my own. I’m glad to know that the best results come from harder surfaces, so I will not try my gel plates.I think I will try using two different surfaces...I’m thinking of an acrylic sheet I have (very hard) on the bottom and an clear acrylic placemat on top! Wish me luck..lol..💕
Thanks Mary - it's always fun experimenting. And with paper and paint then even the 'fails' go on to be something else. Enjoy experimenting in your lab :)
Those ATC cards are just lovely! I love the moon one. I've made some following yours and Nina's tutorials, I'm going to have to look closely and see if I can see any patterns or landscapes or something.
Hi Kylie, love these ATC’s prints must give this a try some time, I’m creating mini book journals they are the same size as ATC’s, fun to do, I’ll send you a few photos of them, Thanks for the Inspiration.x💕🏴
Fabulous results Kylie, love the ATCs using the pattern as trees, works so well. Am looking forward to trying this out with different things, hubby has already given me a strange look when I asked him if he had any spare glass in the shed lol. Tfs xo
This is a fabulous lesson. Thank you for explaining about the pressure you apply. I would have pressed down hard and wondered why I didn’t get that delicate look. Your ATC’ are fabulous!!! The blossom is my favorite, but I truthfully it was my least favorite at first. Your drawing made it come alive! Thank you so much this was awesome. Have done it before, but am so grateful to you and Nina for reminding me how much fun this is. P. S. I was surprised that the gel prints didn’t come out better. You never know do you? TFS. I did. God bless and stay safe.
Thanks Evelyn. Because I gel print a lot and often apply a lot of pressure to lift the print I have to remind myself with this technique that it needs to be very gentle. I wasn't sure if the gel plates would work but I know that I've managed to get a dendritic pattern before by just using the brayer on the gel plate. Lots of experimenting going on all the time :)
Pretty cards. I think you would get better veining if you stopped spreading the paint so thin. You have to leave ridges or blobs of paint so you get that spreading or branching effect. I love the way you turned one into a night scene.
The first thing I tried was two Gelli plates as well, I didn’t like the results but I got distracted and ended up making some nice gel prints! I have two pieces of tempered glass somewhere, we moved last year so everything I want, I can’t find! Meantime, I am going to try some acrylic stamping blocks as well, your results were very pretty and I loved how the line work really set them off! 💕🇨🇦
Hi Cindy. That's the thing with gel plates - you can get distracted for hours with them. I've managed to get dendritic patterns on a single gel plate just by using a brayer. But the stamping blocks certainly worked on this occasion.
Thank you so much for this video. I've also messed around with this technique coz I think these patterns are quite amazing! I tried glass, sheets of rigid acrylic, bendy acrylic, various acetates, projector film, photo paper and more, inter-changing them all if you know what I mean. So far glass seems to give the best result. I found yt videos by Atomic Shrimp and Cat Hand (two separate channels) who did some experimenting with dentritic painting and mono-printing with pretty good results. I think they may have added a wee bit of water to the paints. Beats me how I did not discover your channel previously while on my dendritic travels, but am glad I found you now. You have so many videos and interesting techniques I would love to explore! And great to hear a Scottish accent too! Sub'd.
I'm wondering what will happen if I try some acetate, like a clear binder cover. I want to do a bunch of metallics. This is gorgeous, and I want to be able to use it as a layer on top of some paintings, not just to print on papers. There must be a way!
Yes I think acetate would work. I would suggest experimenting and see what results you can get. Some paints need to be on thicker and others thinner - it just depends on their consistency. And you are right that whatever is produced does not need to be just for backgrounds - if I have a really interesting piece it can become the 'focal point'. Thanks for watching and commenting
Don't use a brush to spread, that is creating the lines yous (brush pattern). Smoothe with your finger and use drops of paint or lines of paint not spread so thin. You need the thickness to create the best dendric designs
I think I've found the point at which YT changes the settings of my videos so I just need to stay alert to that now. If I've got it right then there should only be an ad at the start of the video and none during it. I think the mid-roll ads are very disruptive especially in art videos.
Fab! As usual... don’t worry about adverts as they’re everywhere and we’re used to them... happy to wait as you are worth it xx
Thanks you June. I think I've now got to the bottom of the advert thing and have found out the point at which YT seem to be changing the settings. Hopefully now they will only be at the start of my videos
You are worth sitting through adverts. I love this technique ! ❤️❤️❤️
Nearly all the videos I watch have ads! I don't care for them, but am used to seeing them and hitting the SKIP AD button when I can! 😁
Thanks Cynthia - I think I've got to the bottom of the ad issue so hopefully they should now just be at the start of my videos.
I love the way your finished cards turned out Kylie. Thinking cap on to see what I can do with mine. This technique is such a lot of fun 💕
Thanks Nina - it is a fun technique - I tend to end up using them as backgrounds
Awesome prints tfs Kylie...Kia Kaha...
Thank you Maggie
Great ATC's Kylie. I learned a lot from your experiments, thanks.
Thank you Debbie
This technique is exciting, you never know what will turn out! Beautiful patterns!
Thanks Elizabeth - I think that's the fun of it just not knowing what you'll get
Especially love the silver metallic print against the blue atc! All then are gorgeous ❤️
Thanks Amanda - the silver and blue do look good together
The effect with painting solid colour first then dendritic pattern on top was a surprise and another surprise to see an image unfold with pen. New to me, thanks Kylie. 🌿🌻🌿
Thank you Devann
Wow!! I absolutely love fractals! Super super cool! Ferns come to mind....these are just so pretty! TYFS! ❤️🦋💜
Thank you so much Cindy - yes like ferns 🤗
Fun experiments. I love the way the final pieces turned out.
Thank you Susan
I am happy about this technique. I don't have a gelli plate and this looks like so much fun. Thank you.
Thanks Denise - I hope you enjoy trying it :)
Just love the ATC's and the technique is new to me, so I'll be experimenting with this one, tfs.
Thank you Jackie - have fun
I love using these prints for die cuts. It gives them some dimension. Great video.
Thank you :)
Wow - who knew?? Thanks so much, Kylie, for awesome inspiration as always! Jen xx❤️❤️
Thanks so much Jen
Very nice nice some good effects. Love the atc cards.
Thank you for a most interesting video, Kylie. It was fascinating to see what you got from the various types of paints and so on. I think the red ones looked rather Christmassy so that's food for thought! I think this is going to be a very interesting month!
Thanks Edna - yes I thought the same when I saw the red and gold
These are so pretty. I like using pieces of glass. After I get my first print I spritz some water on the glass and get another effect.
Thank you Jody and that's a great idea to spritz them to get a second print
A great technique I will have to give this a go. I love your finished results the ATC's are lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Karen
You got some lovely patterns, love the little ATC , look forward to seeing what you do with the rest ,,,xxx 👏💕😊
Thank you Annie
These are amazing. What a cool technique! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Kim
Love the effect this creates. X
Thank you Marie
I love it with the metallics they seemed to work better, love this technique good fun 💖😁🧡
Thanks Elaine - the metallics did work best this time. I've had good results with the neons before but I think those particular bottles are now getting to the point of being past their best.

Great job Kylie, beautiful prints
Thanks so much Yolanda
Oh! Really like the silver on the blue!
Thank you Kristy - the blue and silver certainly stand out
Those Arteza metallic paints are soo pretty!
Thank Jane - I enjoy using them :)

Thanks Steph. Glass coasters is a great idea - I have some - if only I had thought to use them! Maybe next time :)
Love doing this technique and not done it for a while . Yours turned out great and love what you made with them . Tfs :)
Thank you Mari

I love the way you turned one into a night scene.
Thanks Minna. And yes, it would help to spread some of the paints thicker. Thanks for watching and commenting :)
Yr amazing inspiring a newbie loving learning thank you 😀
Thanks so much for your kind comment Louise - any questions about any of my videos or techniques then please do ask :)

Yes indeed :)
Very frustrating and discouraging about the ads I voiced my opinion as well several times
