I love watching you!! You are very precise BUT so easy to learn from...I'm self taught novice quilter...so watching you really helps me so much!! Thank You ...
Laura, you are my favorite person to learn things from. I'm set off to make that 5 fat quarter quilt for a dear friend. I must have missed how you got your rulers for cutting ( one template) please help me. I want to start this with my 86 year old Mother. It may be our last project together. Your very big fan Lisa B
You forgot the Dresden ruler, the tumbler, the 60 degree. Lol. Their are tons. I'm embarrassed to tell you how many rulers I have. But I use them all and love them all!
There is a ruler that measures from the inside out. What is it called so I can purchase it and could you please make a video explaining how to use it please? Thanks in advance.
I bought the Dritz Quilting Measuring Gauge, and it is great! So much better than the traditional seam gauge, because there are no moving parts to slip or fall out. Thank you for a great recommendation.
I noticed you use different brands of rulers. I thought it was always best to stay within 1 brand as the measurements can be off between brands. Is this true?
Guess I have a great excuse to purchase 2 of the rulers I'm missing from your 10+1 favorites at AQS Syracuse this week!! Thank you Laura!!(grinning happily🤓)
Here in Germany we are metric. But guess what, appart from 2, all my rulers are in inch, because all the books and you tube tutorials are from USA or UK. 😉
I love your video's! Thank you for that. For storage of my rulers I use old vinyl standards. The triangular ones. I have two. One for 26 vinyl records and one for 72 vinyl records. One for centmeters rulers and the big one for the inches.
Does anyone know if quilt rulers come in any other colors the yellow and no “color” just clear with markings? I’m looking at arteza but their rulers are bright yellow and do to being visually impaired and yellow is difficult for me to see. Thx!!!
I only have a few rulers and wish I had more, was looking for a big square 1 to make t-shirt quilts until I saw they wanted almost $70 for it......that is just insane for a piece of plastic.
Thanks for sharing, love your sewing tutorials. I have a question, that thread box in the back, did you make it, or buy it? also can you fit more thread in the back of the thread that is shown....thank you.
I love your 16 1/2 inch ruler, I haven't seen one that large. I'd say my favorites would be my 12 1/2 square, 8 1/2 square, 8 X 24 inch, 6x24 inch, and my new one is 2 1/2 by 24 inch and it has a 45 degree angle at one side. I like how I store them. Small Command hooks on the back of the sewing room door. It's where I keep all of my templates and other rulers too.
The one with pink markings is by Fiskars - Coastal Colors line: www2.fiskars.com/Products/Crafting-and-Sewing/Cutting-Mats-and-Rulers/Coastal-Colors-Acrylic-Ruler-3-x-18
Hi, I love sew very easy and her videos. All quilting rulers are good quality and are made to use with rotary cutters. It takes practice to use ruler & cutter and you need to follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents, you don't want to cut yourself or a curious child might do itself harm. I learnt by watching and listening to utube and day classes. Have another go & take your time, and make sure blade of cutter is Sharp.🦋

Glad to hear that and thank you for watching
I suspected you would have more than ten rulers lol. Love your videos.
Oh yes...bu I will not tell you how many:) lol

I love your videos. Do you have one for a Cobbler Apron for adults . I would love to see it. Thanks for sharing all you do.
Check out Laura's YT video, "Reversible Mans BBQ Apron" that she posted May 21, 2015 with a link for a pattern.

I noticed you have one ruler that gives a space to mark the 1/4 seam allowance. Can you tell me where it is available?,
is this it ? www.sewingmachinesplus.com/quarter-inch-seam-guide.php
Who makes the seam guide?
a few different companies do, check at your fabric store.
I bought the Dritz Quilting Measuring Gauge, and it is great! So much better than the traditional seam gauge, because there are no moving parts to slip or fall out. Thank you for a great recommendation.
you are very welcome:)

Are these rulers available on Amazon.

I am doing a pattern that has 30% angle with different 2 1/2 strips ( herringbone backwards and forwards effect). How do I accomplish this feat?
👍

Hi and thank you very much! 🌸😎
From where to buy these rulers? please let me know.
I only have a few rulers and wish I had more, was looking for a big square 1 to make t-shirt quilts until I saw they wanted almost $70 for it......that is just insane for a piece of plastic.
Go to your nearest Home Depot type store. They will cut plexiglass to size. Cheap accurate and perfect for T shirt quilts.
Hey,that's a great idea. I'll have to go there and get a few made.I'm sure I could use a sharpie and draw on my own lines.Way cheaper......thanks!
Yes you can go and have the plastic cut for you BUT be sure it is square
thanks for sharing
+SewVeryEasy I enquired at my local flexiglass shop and they only wanted $11 for a square piece.
Thanks for sharing, love your sewing tutorials.
I have a question, that thread box in the back, did you make it, or buy it? also can you fit more thread in the back of the thread that is shown....thank you.
It does hold thread in the back but you can not see them:(
I love your 16 1/2 inch ruler, I haven't seen one that large. Where would I get these rulers.
The seam guide is so handy, have one hanging on my machine and one in my go bag. I have a lot of the rulers you do.
I love my little seam guide too
Whee do you get the 3 inch x18 and one and one half inch long one?

it takes time to collect them all
this is great - I guess I need a few more as I only have 5 right now. Shopping trip is a must. Thanks for the great tutorial. Sew on and stay safe.
have fun:)
lol....i ONLY HAVE 2 .....will need to buy some when I need them....lol
don't worry...that will happen over time lol
absurd!!!! What we all want to know is how thick the rulers are. We are tired of our rotary cutter running up onto the ruler. Worthless information
