The talent on show in this mix - the skill he exhibits in both track selection, timing, and hip hop style cutting and chopping up the tracks (and not a loose mix in sight even though he's so quick) - is unparalleled to my mind. Legendary moment. Just listen to the ecstasy of the crowd - lucky fuckers every single one of them that was there that night!

It was Eurodance 97...we were at the Dublin leg (David Holmes) but my always well prepared best pal remained at home and taped the lot on four of five C90's ...Carl Cox...Pete Tong in Rome...Holmes in the Temple Dublin and Mr Clarke at the Fuse..He even cut out the ad breaks!.nearly 20 years on this is still my all time fav DJ mix

This is legendary, this man made my life a lot better. Still admire him for his awesome skills, his scratching, his feeling thé music is al one. Many love you Dave
Cheesy samples everywhere and quirky synths galore. Production hardware was more limited in capabilities. It gave the music that lovely homemade flavor that wouldn't fly these days. Daft Punk's Homework was a love letter to this exact era of techno. Things began to sound a LOT more polished and professional later on. There still is a lot to like in recent stuff but the naive charm that the early techno had is gone for sure IMO.
