I lived in Southern California for 35 years and over the last 10 it has gone downhill. I would not recommend for my daughter. L.A. is very dangerous. I have a cop friend that lives nearby and he won’t go there anymore. Also, that industry is the worst. She will have to sell her sole and more. She’s far better off doing social media and maybe supplement with local or online modeling jobs.
…and it is crazy expensive. I know people making over $200K and can barely afford an apartment. Also not a great place for Van life.

Totally agree. Crime is pretty bad in LA with chain stores like Target and Walgreens closing up their stores due to robberies. Also California is 4th highest priced state you can live in (the first being Hawaii).
I have a sister living in L.A. California, and even now they are trying to get out of there. Its just a disaster area now unfortunately. Hopefully things will get turned around now that its obvious certain ideology just don't work in the real world.

I would wait on the LA trip. The entertainment industry is in chaos because of the pandemic and the recent strikes. The film and television industries have lost hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. Studios are making huge budget and staff cuts. I’m not trying to be negative or a downer, but I think Ame would be very disappointed with Hollywood & LA at the moment. Actually now most movies and TV shows are filmed in Georgia and Canada.

Always love your videos as well as Ame's. I live in the Los Angeles area, also work in the area as a Firefighter/paramedic and unfortunately see the ugliness first hand everyday .. I once tried the modeling/actress career on the advice of friends. I found out the hard way that there are way too many scummy people in the industry. What happens to most is you get a job at a restaurant hoping to get discovered and will do whatever you have to to make it. The modeling business is very cutthroat with a ton of fake people. Actors face the same demoralizing fate . Ame is so genuine and beautiful that she would be way to subject to finding all the wrong people. Hollywood has gone downhill so much over the last 10 years that even going there to visit is sketchy. Please don't take this as anything that will blow Ame's ambitions or dreams. unfortunately it has become reality. She has the best outlook on life and is so amazingly beautiful that she does deserve a modeling career. Just not in the united states...sorry. Please keep up the great work, love to see your travels.

As an American from the west coast, I'd say get a head start modeling in Europe first. You're already set up there, and Paris and London seem like a great place to get started! Then you can mix trying out the modeling scene without completely restructuring your life, you can keep doing Ame in a Van while things get going on your career, and with a European track record and developed portfolio, and a feel for the business, you're much more likely to do really well in LA and put your best foot forward. It might not be super safe to do vanlife in LA, and be super expensive to live normally. Working as a waitress to pay basic bills could drain you of your mojo, and in this business, mojo matters. I think youd be better off using the momentum youve got at the moment to build yourself up where you are, then head to LA. I bet you'd also get work that'd bring you to LA, and you could get a feel for it, to see if you like it. 😊

There’s no way that Ame’ needs to work as a waitress. She already has a huge following on UA-cam and makes enough to pay for her living expenses. She should come to the USA (not in LA) and live in a safe place; continue with her UA-cam videos, and use it as a stepping stone for better things.
Ame is destined for far greater things. I've watched her channel sinse day 1. Such a beautiful girl inside and out. Cannot wait to see the next chapter unfold.

A very bad idea to go that route for Ame, she would get eaten alive by all the negativity there. She is very independently minded and very sensitive. When you engage in that world you have conform to other peoples ideas. My advice would be to do what she is good at. Perhaps set up an Etsy page, with fashion items and jewelry you pick up in France, using your videography and modelling skills to sell them. I was right about not starting OF, (but for some reason Ame wiped my advice)and I think I am right about not going to LA. Hope your dentistry goes well Rob.

Here in the Philippines we can feel the Christmas spirits starting September(Ber-Months). People starts putting up their christmas trees, christmas lights and all other christmas decors and you can hear a lot of christmas songs played by our local radio stations. We tend not to take down all of those until the 1st sunday of January. We have the longest christmas celebrations in the world! Merry Christmas to your family and especially to my love Ame in a van!

Someone mentioned about the strikes. This would be the absolute worst time in the history of cinema to try and earn a living in film/tv. The longest strike in the history of the industry (going on a year now...)! When filming resumes, the people already in line will get hired first. At the very least you might want to wait a few years until the machine gets back up to full steam. Someone also mentioned other markets, like Canada and Atlanta, Georgia. The Southeast of America has become a hub for filming and is less unionized. It's cheaper and still has nice weather. Lots of filming and TV shows in Atlanta area. Ame definitely has the 'it' factor and most importantly, supportive parents. She seems to have a real passion for entertainment. You have found a great niche as social media creators. Why not figure a way to grow that business? Why become a small fish in s big pond, when you are already the star of your own show? Are you really the type of people who want to be at the mercy of someone else's decisions? Up the production quality of Ame in a Van and see where that takes you. You have an opportunity with UA-cam, etc., that has never been available. Make the most of it and see where it takes you. LA would be a big, very expensive, move. You're doing something special. Don't get gobbled up by the machine. You're already independent producers. Continue down that path. Maybe visit the US and start your journey on the east coast. Test the waters. New York is a major market for modeling and acting. Many New Yorker are m moving south for better weather and lower cost of living. Atlanta and Florida would be less competitive places to start. Bring the show to America and make it about Ame trying to break into showbiz. You are already doing the best thing Ame could do, by creating a fan base, gaining experience and getting a feel for what the future may hold. Hook up with other creatives, network. Develope a script, or concept and do your own thing. As long as you don't give up, it's a more sure footed path to earning a living as an entertainer.

The problem with LA/Hollywood for someone like Amelise is that she has character and a soul. Those aren't overly abundant traits in that town to say the least. That said, Ame certainly has all of the prerequisites to make it in the world of modeling and acting, I sense she's meant for something better though. Good luck!

If Ame is serious about getting into modeling, I would suggest that she contact Nikki Delventhal, who is a UA-cam van-lifer in the U.S. Nikki used to be a cheerleader for a professional football team (American football) although I don't recall the name of the team. She used to also be a model who has appeared on the cover of several women's magazines. She can give Ame practical advice on how difficult it can be to be a model and perhaps how to get into it. Ame (and you guys) can also watch some of Nikki's early UA-cam videos where she describes her previous life in modeling. Different modeling shoots require a different look such as being more thin, or perhaps thin, but with a somewhat muscular athletic look. Nikki developed an eating disorder in an effort to meet the demands of her modeling career. She ended up leaving modeling because it was negatively impacting her health.
Ame is beautiful and strong, but there are a lot of women out there that are like that so I would imagine that the competition would be fierce. Not to discourage her, but she needs to find out the good and bad of what she may be getting into. Also, I think it would be a good idea to have an exit plan, such as returning back to travelling with you guys, if things don't work out as she hopes.

While I’m sure she could make a go of anything, I’d personally be a bit wary of LA as a cutthroat industry. As a stepping stone, is there anything in France that she could start off with? As for Ame's future, I think she might do well to try modeling in New York City. The major modeling agencies are there, and I have heard they are reluctant to sign new models much past the age of 22. Further, it is sometimes easier to get into acting from modeling. As she gains traction in the industry, then a move to Los Angeles would likely soon follow.
However, since Ame has so much experience in front of and behind the camera, and has so much good footage of herself already, a break directly into acting in L.A. could occur. I have heard that some young actresses go on gam e shows or reality shows just to get some footage of themselves to show casting directors, but Ame already has lots of great footage of herself.
She might have to get a foothold in modeling or acting in France or the UK first in order to qualify for the U.S. Visa to do the same over over here. She should speak to a reputable talent agency and immigration attorney.
For a short period of time, I did some work for an attorney who procured those types of Visas for "B" list entertainers ("A" listers who are already famous have a different procedure, from what I'm told). But those rising in the industry would need to show some of the work they did in their home countries, including photographs, videos, play bills, media coverage of their work, etc., and show a work offer they have received in the U.S. The case has to made that they have extraordinary abilities that an American model/actor/singer does not have. Maybe Ame's work in hosting her own UA-cam Channel would help meet those qualifications.
I think she need a wider audience than UA-cam but what it is is clearly up to her. I wish her all good vibes. 💜

The stores in the U.S. put out holiday merch before we even celebrated Halloween. It was full blown Christmas when I went to the stores to get the 1/2 off chocolate clearance after Halloween.🤣
I wish my girl would get her some sweatpants and some hoodies, then she would be prepared for however cold it gets. A 500w small space heater would do the trick in her van and run off of the batteries.
Ame has got amazing skills with acting, video production and creativity. What an amazing opportunity to go to LA and something she should be proud to have. At her age she needs to broaden her horizons and work with others. However, do take into consideration the comments of others about LA. She is getting noticed now and there will definitely be other opportunities too. Any role like that would definitely be a culture shock from vanlife! Think long and hard about it. Test the water (go and visit and try it out for a couple of weeks) and definitely dont let her sell herself short. I agree with others, mum and dad should be her managers! She will go a long way!
I'm not saying Ame pursing a career in entertainment is a bad idea, but go into it being as prepared as possible. There are a lot of people who will try to lead you down dangerous paths with false promises and the ever present temptations of wealth and fame. Selfishly I hope Ame does pursue a career in tv and film because she is a creative soul and I think she could make beautiful films. Also I love the idea of a collaboration between yourself and Ame! Love when the family gets together. If Ame is ready to make the change, because once you get locked into the L.A. lifestyle, it will settle you down. Coming from L.A. I know that it takes a certain person that can handle all the glitz and glamor. Get a good agent and they will watch your back. L.A. is a fun town with lots to do, you will never be bored. It will be an easier transition for her if you both come along and be there for support. Talk about the weather. You will love the coastline north and south of Los Angeles.

I apologize in advance if this message comes across as aggressive or preachy, however from one parent to another; please do not send your daughter to Los Angeles. If she has a support network of friends and family and she already has an agent, then go for it so long as you are there to keep an eye on her. Los Angeles is a cess pit of people at all levels of the pyramid looking to take advantage of those who want to 'make it'. I've worked on the sidelines of film and TV production for just over twenty years and even though I am involved in the music production side of things, I've seen enough of Los Angeles and how it works and I've heard enough stories from friends in the business to know that I wouldn't dream of letting my kids anywhere near that place or that industry. If you guys have aspirations of film making, which I think would be awesome, then do it off your own back and if your projects become popular Hollywood will come knocking and in that kind of scenario you can keep them at arm’s length. She has plenty of subscribers and can grow her presence even more. UA-cam "fame" can easily give her plenty of acting and modelling opportunities without her moving to a city that people ate running from. It seems totally unnecessary imo
@@GhastlyCretin Exactly, not to mention that Los Angeles is a dangerous place for aspiring talent. UA-cam fame can be a platform to doing other things that you control yourself without having to enter into dark places.
@@GaryJRobinson Definitely. I don't know if you know who Emma Chamberlain is but she's about Ame's age. Got a huge following on UA-cam being funny and now she basically works full time in the fashion industry. Hardly uploads anymore and is a multi millionaire. Although she did go to LA at one point, it didn't help her career at all.

Unfortunately an idiot wrote something really hurtful to Charlotte and she now doesn’t read the comments anymore. It really upset her.
I'm really sorry to hear that and I believe I read that analytical comment. Please tell Charlotte she is truly missed here in the comments and I hope she'll return one day when she is ready. No pressure at all. Social media can really cut both ways, with positives and negatives and I try not to let the negative stuff get to me as these negative people are trying to leave a mark on you and they get their win. Better for them to have no impact on our lives, then we win and we go on as we do. They comment negatively because of all the negatives in their own lives and try to inflict it on others. My Dad always quoted to me - "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." I've relied on that a fair few times in my life and it works a treat 😉 You are all doing fantastic and have a great and appreciative community here, its just that 0.1% who like to spoil things! 🙏 ❤@@midlifevanlife

I think the video shoot idea with Ame is a great one. I think Ame is bursting with talent and star quality. It's not surprising that this is the consensus amongst viewers of her channel.
