There needs to be a Federal law stating that Senators (and House Reps) must live in the State which they represent.
I THOUGHT that there was ONE?????
Especially while proclaiming "STATE'S RIGHTS!" and "local rule is best."
It's literally in the constitution.
"No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen."
There is one.
Article 1section 2 Clause 2
Qualifications
No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen.
You should have had to have lived in the state for at least a year to run rather than fake moving to the state for the election. In Alabama to be Governor you must be a state resident for at least seven years. Secretary of State? The residency requirement drops to five years. State Senate or House? You be a state resident for at least 3years. But U.S. Senate and House? One day of residency is all that’s required. That's how morons like Tuberville who lives in Florida gets to be Senator of Alabama.

Senators should be required to have their primary residence in the state they represent. The same rule should apply to Congressman and woman with the additional requirement they live in the same district they represent. Not too much to expect.

Other out-of-state Republicans include Josh Hawley, who isn't from Missouri but from Arkansas, schooled in Kansas, college in Connecticut & California, and moved into Missouri some decades ago. Then there's Alabama's Sen. Tommy Tuberville is no longer from Alabama. Tuberville long ago sold his Alabama home and now lives in Florida panhandle at his beach house.
to be fair, everyone in alabama is better off with tommy living in florida. i'm starting to think all maga should live in florida. we can simultaneously invite decent floridians to a newly more sane, free, democracy loving america.

Right. Because I remember that too as a kid. I also remember a large percent of the senior AP English class used a stolen copy of the final, and were failed.
