I use disposable baking pans of various sizes with kitty litter which spreads the paint/litter mix over a larger contained area. I let the pans sit undisturbed. Everything is dry within a few days depending on how much paint I start out with. If there is still moisture present I sprinkle the top with more litter until dry. Theoretically, the dry 'blocks' of paint could also be popped out of the pans making the pans reusable and keeping them out of the landfill. Thank you for pointing out other drying ingredients that I hadn't thought of before. Plenty of shredded paper and sawdust around here!

I really like the idea of the disposable baking pans, and you are right, you could "pop" out the hardened paint and use the pan again, or recycle it. Glad to be of help. Best, DFJ

Sir, thank you for the vid! No affiliate link to Amazon or Home Depot? Hopefully you can write off the costs of the materials you used! I may have to get the "paint harder". I used the kitty litter last and discovered, as you demonstrated, that it takes more than you think, to truly harden it. Also, more patience than I anticipated (which is always the case with me haha). Great vid!

Interesting. I never thought about using sawdust. Looks like a good alternative to the special made stuff. I had used that before and it does work really well. Never a fan of the kitty litter though. Not enough bang for the buck. Since I have plenty of sawdust al the time, gonna give that a try next time I need to get rid of some old paint. Thanks for the video!

Take ours to the recycling center. In turn we also get paint from there

Good morning - winter has hit. We got some snow as well on the mountains right beside us and frost took out the last of the tomatoes and corn. Soup weather!

I take the lid off and dry.

That's a simple way to do it, as long as you let the paint dry completely through. Thanks for watching! Best, DFJ

I expect there's the same amount of Emerald paint in the landfills as Behr😉

I suspect your expectation is about right. Too many people simply throw out paint when it is still liquid. Best, DFJ
