What's a good books can you recommend to read about Buddhism? or if already practicing is a must have?

A great "all in one" book for beginners would be "Heart of the Buddha's Teachings" by Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh. You get all the basics there, with his explanations. Here is my video on my top five book recommendations: ua-cam.com/video/eyUP9T0fKLQ/v-deo.html and you can check out my article that gives you some more choices (including some free ones) here: alanpeto.com/buddhism/top-buddhist-books/
Let me know if there is a particular topic or tradition you're interested in and I can give perhaps another recommendation.

Do mahayana and vajrayana also practice noble eight fold path

Vajrayana is part of the Mahayana branch, but it can sometimes be looked at as it's own thing. However, it follows the path of the Bodhisattva and is generally under Mahayana. Regarding your question, yes, all Buddhist traditions should practice the Eightfold Path. How they do that is as varied as the different schools and traditions in Buddhism (of which, there are many in Mahayana for instance). The Threefold Training, which is the three groups of the eightfold path, is what Buddhists practice. But each school will have a different way to practice that. It may not always be identified in that way to someone looking at the practices, but you'll find it there. All traditions look at The Buddha as the founder of Buddhism and have practices based foundationally on his teachings and that of teachers in their tradition.

In simple term what mindfulness means?

Great question. The Buddha said: "Constantly contemplative on the body, mindful, and alert they block out all the influences." (Dhammapada 293)
Mindfulness often gets a generic view in western culture; however, it is a core part of the Buddhist practice. When you are truly practicing mindfulness, you are a Buddha! We sometimes look at the Buddha as becoming enlightened, and that was the end of his effort. However, he was practicing every day, and every moment, of his life.
True contemplation (another term for right mindfulness) is to develop your mind so it is “pure, aware, and does not give rise to unwholesome thoughts”. So, in every moment of your life, the more you are mindful of what is occurring and how your mind is ‘interpreting’ it (and thus controlling your actions), you will be walking the path of the Buddha.
For example, Ven. Thich Nhat Hanh once said that if he learned that, while on an airplane, that it was going to crash, he would essentially practice mindfulness and practice mindful breathing. Mindfulness is a choice you can practice at any time.
