Your welcome and thanks for the comment. When I first started looking at building the kit, I saw the Woodland Scenics Scenery kit on Amazon and at first I thought that was all I needed, boy was I in for a big surprise when I found out I needed three different kits: the layout, the scenery, and the building kit. Pretty expensive, but in the end, really worth it. It's it extremely hard to find the Flexi-track, but if you decide to do the layout, go with that if you can find it. Also if you seen my reply to sd90, if you want to make two trains go different directions, you will have to research that before hand. There is another UA-cam post where a guy did it, so maybe you can ask him how he did it.
Love the layout. It's incredibly similar to what I'm planning in N Gauge on 1 4x3 layout of the English Countryside on Anyrail. It's very satisfying to see the plan functions well. I have fewer tunnels, so more visible tracks & trains. Ultimately when the inclines are in place I may review this though. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the comment. I want to do a N Scale layout too. I bought a Hello Kitty bullet train from Japan and it is N scale, but I probably won't ever run it, because it is more of a collectors item, like my Harley Davidson train.
Excellent, CONSTRUCTION Echo!!! EXCELLENT, you gotta start somewhere and YOU DID IT. I KNOW ITS FRUSTRATING, HARD TO DO DECORATE, LAY BALLAST, MAKE/ASSEMBLE TUNNELS, MAKE ROADS, PLANT TREES, ITS TIME CONSUMING, AND IT CAN BE COSTLY. BUT IN THE END, THIS IS YOUR MAGNIFICENT LAYOUT, YOU CAN CHANGE IT, KEEP IT, OR SELL IT, I SURE LOVE THAT YOU PUT IN A DRIVE IN, OH THOSE WERE THE DAYS, LET ME TELL YOU!!! NOW CAN WE SEE A SECOND TRAIN RUNNING ON MAIN GROUND LINE RUNNING OPPOSITE DIRECTION, WHILE THE UPPER RUNS, THAT'D BE NICE. GREAT LAYOUT, I LOVE IT!!!👌✌️👍
Thank you for the comment and yea I thought the Drive-Inn would make a unique touch to the layout and I was right. I owned a '59 Chevy Bel Air and the back seat would come off and that was our way to sneak people in. Good times. Unfortunately, I can't make two trains go in separate directions, because both tracks are connected at the switches. Trust me I would love to do that. I still have some work to do and should be uploading another video soon of a new train I bought.
Very nice work sir! You put your "down time" to good use. You should be proud of the way it turned out. You can use the lessons learned on your next layout!!
I am very proud and absolutely love it and want to do another one as I wrote in another reply, but money is tight and need to get a bigger house. Hehehe
That is an awesome video of the build. Really good, and love some of your captions too, ballast PITA ( for everyone I think), trees from China, hey we all have to save money and make things easier for us. And you paint the river any color you want, it's your layout, not ours :) Have an update on it? Or maybe you already posted one? NM, found it!
At first it was only DC, because I thought when I built it, that I wouldn't be able to covert it, so the original design and wiring was for DC, but after watching numerous UA-cam videos, I was able to convert it to DCC. Now I can run two trains at once as long as I am careful not to have a head-on collision in the tunnel part of the track.
@@bravoechotango6726 which dcc friendly turnouts did you use for your layout as the recommended turnouts by woodland scenics for this layout wont work with dcc
@@nthechocolatefactory372 The turnouts I used are the EZ-Trac ones, but those aren't hookked to the DCC; I used a DC controller for the power to those and routed the switch wiring to the front of the layout. I did that with the RR Crossing lights too. I will also do that with the building lights and the street lights. Honestly I don't use the turnouts (switches) very much, so doing them by hand works for me.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video - thinking about purchasing this layout. Very helpful.

I am doing a extention on the river pas and would like to know how thick are the printed boards thank you
If you are referring to the plywood base; it is 1/2" thick.
@@bravoechotango6726 no the printed styrofoam boards I need to by extra because my table is10 foot by 5 foot 7
@@BrettGrimsonper the instruction pdf on Woodland Scenics’ website, the base panels are 1/2” thick.

Glad you found the update, but for some reason it doesn't get many views and not sure why. Thank you.
Hello. Can I ask what track you are using? Thanks.
That’s EZ track
Yes just like the other reply, I used EZ track.
Did you use DCC on your layout?

What was the hardest part for you
The hardest part for me was the ballasting and I cursed the most doing that. Hehehe
I know a guy who uses an old phone for his drive in. It’s a big hit with visitors.
