- Unconditional love is commonly seen as the ideal kind of love. A guaranteed and secure kind of love, much like a parent's love for their child. Unconditional love is also often expected within a romantic relationship. However, does such a love exist? Pye and Dr. Glen debate whether love and relationships can truly be unconditional or if all relationships, regardless of circumstance, are bound by some terms and expectations.

I experienced unconditional love unconditional means unconditional no strings attached, the rules to obey. No expectations. Love it's giving.
Loving someone and *choosing* to prioritize someone's place in your life are very different things. For me, if I love someone, I love them forever. It doesn't mean that this person will be a permanent presence in my life, but it does mean that there is absolutely nothing that can ever happen to diminish my love for them.
I can 100% say with confidence that if you take psychdelics (responsibly) and ask to feel 'truly unconditional love' from the Universe, depending on your dosage and your mindset.. you can feel this truly unconditional love that I believe is beyond human capabilities, and can only be created by higher beings or the highest being. Earthly love is conditional, but Spiritual love is truly unconditional.
Unconditional love to me means no matter what I love them regardless of what they do or have. However I can love someone unconditionally and not be in a relationship with them, or keep them in my life.

Bullshit, there are always conditions, whether you realize it or not!
Without a definitive definition of love so many make up their own meaning of love. If we could as a society all decide what love really is then lots would be more clear.

It doesnt seem to me to be any difference between your child (or member of your family) and anyone else in terms of conditions. Isnt the fact that it's your child itself a condition albeit one most often overlooked and taken for granted? If you love your child because it's your child that is a condition. An unchanging one versus a "stranger" where conditions can change. Eventually the question that makes more sense to me is "why do I love?" "What is that love" and "how do I love" and to watch what is a conditioned response versus what is truly how i feel and want (heart based)

I think if one is in the right state of mind unconditional love is very possible. Putting restrictions on love seems to be restricting one’s love.
Is it possible you are conflating spiritual love and ego based preferences. Love is a feeling. Whether or not you like how someone acts and however you respond to that is not love.. You can love someone unconditionally but that does not necessitate any particular type of action towards them based on how they behave. One of the 10 Commandments is ‘love thy mother and thy father’. What if your father was Hitler. How could a deity expect you to love someone as heinous as Hitler? I asked many religious people this question and the answer I finally got that made sense to me was you unconditionally love their soul and their connection to a higher power. But what their ego chose to do- that is something you do not have to like or honor. And you can create distance from their ego choices but still love the essence of who they were and who they still are beneath the terrible choices that they’re making. At least that’s my concept of unconditional love that works for me. I am far from mastered it, but it’s a goal they work towards

the one's we love the most will hurt us the most. it requires a special kind of unconditional love to be able to love broken people expressing their darkness. the logical end (reductio ad absurdum) of "unconditional love does not exist," would be to demand perfection in our partner/relationships, which is fundamentally in opposition to the human experience. the debate is largely semantic, but i believe unconditional love not only exists, but love requires the dropping of conditions, or it is not love, as humans would generally describe the love you would have for another human, rather than, love for an object. the word love itself requires further definition to have a coherent conversation about this. the word love, for example in greek, really can translate into several "types of love"

The example given sounds like codependency to me. I believe we can love someone unconditionally and not be in connection with them. I love many from afar because their behavior is harmful to me. I love me and them is why I don’t stay in connection with them. My aura, thoughts and energy towards them is love. Love doesn’t mean being in connection to me
Ofc you are selling in the end something connected to love not unbiased at all.
Unconditional love do not exist especially in the dating scene. IF you are man who is disabled and can't go to work and provide, you will never be loved unconditionally. I know this because i am disabled man who couldn't provide financially. NO MONEY, NO HONEY. That's how it is for men.

I feel like the psychologist is loving idea and tries to put it in boxses so he can say unconditional love. If it is higher state of being why not call it that

God has unconditional love not humans. Parents can and should but many don’t……Jesus walked away from many. Handled it better crucified him because he called sin, sin. Loved the sinner, hated the sin.

3. U.C. love, if someone, damage or kill, you soon, not exist or 99.99 % of people not want.

Jesus was pure love. No matter what, even when he was being nailed to the cross was forgiving and loving. Boundaries are conditions. That's not true love. That's not unconditional love.
Unconditional love is wanting people to grow and evolve, if i don't set boundaries that limits they're growth. You are allowed authority within unconditional love. The Earth loves us unconditionally but the law of cause and effect says every action deserves a reaction. if you don't look after fertile land it won't look after you.
