Honestly this was a nice vid. As the channel has grown so has the business. John somehow became the responsible one. But seeing behind the curtain with Sam and Jordan added some nice silliness and squirrelliness. Since they left, the feeling wasn’t the same. But getting to see more of the team and how they work and problem solve. It gave a similar feeling. Keep it up, love y’all videos.
Could have done without the goofy made up deadline.
@@cuzimpoor7785 you must be a women in another life. only woman still find something wrong with everything.
@@xxxbadandyxx That doesn't make any sense. Why didn't you just say "You must be a woman"? The past life bit crowded your joke. 2 out of 5
Couldn’t agree more.
Great video! So good to see shop dynamic again. It's been missing since Sam and Jordan left and I really missed it.
A couple of tips:
1. Take the drop ceiling tiles out and spray them so you don't have to worry about missing the edges and then showing white when they inevitably shift.
2. Put an underlayment between the concrete slab and the floating laminate flooring. You can get a cheap 100 sqft. roll of 2mm for less than $20. It will cut down on creaking and noise and protect the laminate from getting soft and bulging if water seeps through the porous concrete. It's way cheaper than replacing the flooring plus all the therapy you'll need after going ape shit from listening to the floor creak all damn day.
I did that exact same mistake with painting my drop ceiling black. Started with a roller/brush, immediately went and bought a sprayer. Still had to spray from different angles to get into all that texture. I am still finding parts of the ceiling that didn't get fully covered, but I LOVE the look of the black ceiling.
This is by far one of my favorite channels because of this stuff right here in this video. Excellent content and you can see the workplace dynamic, which looks fun and relaxed. Keep up the good work everyone
Glad you helped them John. That office looks nice. Guys did a nice job.
I visited one of Eastman Chemical’s Data Center buildings. To design the building, they went to their employees. They put the employees into teams. One team to design the conference rooms, a team to design the NOC, a team for the Lobby, a team to design the office spaces, etc. And the employees reviewed what the teams had piut together. They took all the designs from the empoyees, put them in a stack, and then handed the stack to the architects, and said “wrap a building around this”.
Eastman has some of the nicest spaces at these centers. However, whenever you see some of the spaces in the actual plant, they're pretty bare bones.
I was attending a meeting in one of our research centers and realized that my bosses glass corner office was completely custom. They gave him a budget and make it his own so he could "personalize his workspace"
3:07 Did he tape buckets to his feet to use as stilts?😂 Mad genius.
If it’s stupid, but it works, it’s not THAT stupid.
Incredible spot
How did I not see that 🤣🤣
good eye
Lovely to see the whole crew!
Tyler has a good taste in studio monitors.
they were already there haha
Yamaha HS5/8's are pretty popular. Right up there with the Rocket's, JBL LSR305/8's, etc. Can't miss their white woofers.
Lou is the man. I feel like I played tackle football with him back in the 80s.
On the off chance you read this...
"The hand planing took like 2 hours"
If you were using the same setting as John you were taking far too thin a shaving at the start. Next time grab a heavy set #5 jack plane to take off the bulk of it then switch to a #4 to smooth it flush.
Looks fantastic though. Definitely something to be proud of
Oh i read it Aubrey.... haha and thank you
That stained plywood under the fountain is a beautiful touch.
Painting sound absorbing ceiling tiles will make them way less sound absorptive, at least in the mid to high frequencies. Other than that, nice job!
3:45 Did one like this but we took the tiles down and sprayed em black then painted the grid gold.. It looked so dope!!
I was worried that the black would make this sad and make the room look smaller with all the black but you ended up bringing it back and making it look quite nice!
i appreciate the pivot to treating employees great
The guys are going to give ya a ride for your money! That was an awesome video!!!!
Love that fountain, I want something like that for my office!
Brilliant! The guys did a fantastic job! 😃
Stay safe there with your families! 🖖😊
What a good deal for John.. Getting his employees to remodel the office while he goes out of town.
I miss your old videos. Where you show us what you are doing.but I do love what your doing. Been watching your vids for about 4 years now.
Awesome video. That's a big improvement, from what it looked like. They did an awesome job, doing the renovation, to the workspace. We use an addler to trim the nosing on the countertop so that it's flush with the top of the countertop. Very nice tool to have. There kinda like an electric planer.
What a great start to introing the new team and making them welcome. Good flow too! For the veneer stuff I couldn't help but point over to Bourbon Moth Woodworking's recent totally OP cross cut video where he demos some of that stuff :)
For a quick quick build that was cool. I want to see it with another week of work
Sports drink would be a cool idea for working in the summer for the fountain so people could stay hydrated more and would remind John of his football days. Maybe do something caffeinated like, wait, coffee. Cold coffee would be sick to have in that thing. One thing you would want to do is make sure you cleaned and sterilized it once a week, though, if you are running anything sugary through it, but if you are running coffee or tea through it, just a soap and water wash once a week should be good enough to keep it clean.
OMG @3:06 just LOVE the bucket boots!!!! BRILLIANT IDEA!!!
John's laughter when he sees fruit punch come out of the fountain is perfect!
That fountain is awesome but the pipes will need to be cleaned daily which will be a pain in the butt lol.
So Tyler is a Pokémon Enthusiasts I see 😅🤣
And Chris is Pizza Chef I see 😅🤣
That workspace looks fantastic! Looks as modern and functional as any design studio. Great job. You guys worked hard and are very talented.
Nice to see you're saving "Jordan's trash" for him to come pick up.
Only a $200 keyboard just chilling in that pile
Very cool to see more people from the team.
Y'all need a sliding table saw.
Heat gun on the veneer would have allowed them to pull it back without a problem.
Great job and a fun video to watch. Really enjoy the behind the scenes looks and the shop dynamics.
Nice. on a walls put up Epoxy Logo Plaques. 2 foot Squares. And everyone can make their own coat of arms and put them on the walls. make the CoA in different types of wood. Then epoxy them. To have them match the logo sizes 2ft by 2ft square
Nice work, guys. I definitely would've ran bourbon thru the fountain for...... ya know...... job security. AKA bribing John. lmao.
Would loved a before and after with some longer clips of how it turned out
Am I the only one that liked having my own private cubicle before I switched to working from home? I don't understand the people that want these open concept office spaces.
That being said, it looks sweet.
That Home Depot sign was hillarious 🤣🤣
Would love to see you take a shot on building a wooden bathtub without epoxy, would be nice to use kind of basic tools! great channel! cheers from sweden
New to this channel. But John, you're such a smart ass. No wonder tradesmen are hard to come by these days. Especially when they have bosses like you berating them all the time.
Professional Pizza Chef for real ?
Didn’t know they made ‘em.
They did a great job! Punch Fountain was awesome
Haha I like how you got your employees to do the work to save you money and have a nicer office and they have nice work wpace
Brawndo: The thirst mutilator! It’s got what plants crave!
Ha! You guys went full idiocracy on that fountain. Love it.
Noyzz, ... just wish y'all did a horizontal slat wall to hang stuff on
As much as I like the art, I'm pretty sure that covering up the electrical panel is a fire hazard and violates electrical and fire codes. Idk if it is in your state, but it's something worth looking into. I don't want John to eat a fine that was preventable.
Looks alot better!! I would have had the flooring go the long way as to not contrast the vertical strips on the wall. But luckily it's not my office and my ocd doesn't matter
I loved this video just because of the office staff, I feel they are so much better on the cam than Lou and the other person. Chris should be out in the workshop more. Jordan and Sam are missed but feel these 2 guys can easily replace them.
Camera skills don't come naturally, they'll all get there with time :)
Brawndo: It's what plants crave.
Brawndo's got electrolytes, it's what plants crave
That was great hehe :D
I tour at the end would have been pretty cool
I was skeptical but it actually turned out really nice for the little time they had
Really cool vid. Can't wait to see how they personalize the space.
I love the Hawaiian punch bubbler and the slat wall, considering doing the same thing above my bar in the basement.
Yes, a bubbler. I wont be corrected.
Found the New Englander!
@Alex Larsen Wisconsin! I think its super isolated here too though, our midwest neighbors dont agree with the term haha
@@tnhunts2759 LOL I was about to say...someone's from Wisconsin...🤣
Turned out nice! Good job boys!
That turned out great!
Next time find a plumber for an assist on the drinking fountain, not bad though.
Great job it looks great
Big improvement 👍👍👍👍👍
I like this vid a lot but the one thing I'm unclear on is what would happen if they didn't make the deadline? Are they fired, do they have to put everything back the way it was, or maybe just set up their computers on the floor and put down some towels or something?
Awesome build! Love it! Need more bourbon! 🤣🤣
Great vid! Make sure to have your 3D printers near ventilation so your not breathing in melted plastic!
Awesome video of some real talent!! Fun guys!!!
I don't know who that doo brick guy is but you should look up longfellow deeds.
I wish these videos were at least twice as long, they’re so fast and jump cut I feel like I can’t even absorb what I just saw. The end was literally 5 seconds long I couldn’t even see the end result.
Boys that was sick, ok John got a challenge for u give you and the boys including Lou or use him instead Tyler 100 doll hairs and a pallet 1 day and see what use can build and who can sell it for most looser pays for chik filet!🏴👍
Great video.
"Moral is low" 😆
These videos are awesome
fellow blender users I see, must be nice having a small army to help with the office reno tho
Love your videos guys. But I’m slowly moving to Rumble as much as I can. Eventually I will not use UA-cam at all. I highly suggest making an account there and at minimum, mirroring your videos there. Once you move, I will only watch your content there.
when summer time rolls around the fruit flies are going to love the catch bucket of used Hawaiian Punch.
yep! we are working on a solution now!
Love Tylers FD-tishirt 😎
Idea that I have not seen before. Could you build a working computer table. where the computer is inside the table top. that would be badass.
Do these guys watch the videos on the channel? I was wondering why they used veneer with a sticky back. That just seems way more difficult to put on than a non stick back and contact cement
had that exact same issue with the edge banding yesterday.
1:30 in and I hope you change the lighting!
All the millennials watching the water fountain knowing David stole the idea from Mr. Deeds.
“I’m am Very sneaky sir”
Great video. Love seeing content like this
Awesome video! I would consider investing in better (more aesthetic) lighting as a next step for your video quality. The editing and content is great, but som colder (neutral) kelvin lights would uopgrad your overall videoquality tremendeously! :))
Fruit punch water fountain was from Mr. Deeds with Adam Sandler
6:07 …. Noooooo, always run flooring the length of the room, the eye follows the long lines and it makes the room look bigger! But otherwise, it’s looking awesome! 😂
best thing ever
When is the whiskey fountain getting installed in the boss's office?
Painting the ceiling tiles may cover the pin sized holes in the tiles and wreck sound damping en
He adores Hawaiian punch
So.. who keeps running into the door with the forklift? Lol
Definitely deplane the Fruit punch with bourbon on fridays after 1pm
Love this video, John is now a dad 😂
😂😂 u guys tried to roll out a got damn drop ceiling 😂😂😂😂
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What was used for the Sit/Stand "desk legs"?
I believe they just bought a sit stand base off Amazon
@@acesplit Thanks, looking to build a desk soon and was thinking of getting a sit/stand
Good boss, great work. Hop your business continues to grow and your team continues to enjoy their jobs.
@ 1:25 ------> I want a Winchester garbage can too... 🤔
Cubicles get a bad wrap. I prefer having the privacy to look at my phone and computer without prying eyes lol.
Did anyone check codes before covering(hiding) the panel? At the very least there is the 'keep it clear 3ft in front' and possible fire codes for your area that prohibit this. 🤷♂️
what software you guys use to design the interior for a room?
Talk about getting squirrelly
