    He has a point. the more popular lab grown diamond gets, the more the natural diamond will appreciate. Imagine in 100 years time where lab grown diamond is all you can get (look at the ads and media push for lab grown diamond, its only a matter of time), how much would a natural diamond that would only of been possible era ago be worth? Morality aside, this is the same with ivory.

    That's right, I heard a gemologist say about the same thing. I would definitely buy a lab grown over a natural. The natural stores like to over-price, but once you go to sell the natural diamond you do not get back what you bought it for. The only natural diamonds I know of that demands a high cost is something that is really old and has some kind of history tied to it.

    hello friend good night. a question. a diamond in the rough. in density could. weigh more if this diamond is in a matrix where it was formed.

      Lab grown diamond seller here 🙋🏻‍♂️. All lab grown diamonds should have an inscription on the girdle indicating that it’s lab grown. Diamonds under a certain weight however my not have the inscription. Always but from a reputable retailer.

      Main way is hopefully the jewelry store your shopping with is a honest one because there are great honest jewelry stores out there but not many. I can't imagine how many music artist etc think there diamonds are real but the cheaper lab made diamonds and don't even know it so that's why I don't buy diamonds and never will there's to much corruption involved o only buy gold silver and platinum for profits especially gold because it's been on a amazing price raise

    If someone buys a diamond with the intent to sell it later, they need to take some investment classes lol! That should never be the intent when buying a diamond.

    1:49- we’ll that’s with the assumption that people would still value mined diamonds. I don’t think they will continue to be valued by future generations. I think lab Diamond will hold their value because future generations values and consumption habits will change. My evidence to support this comes from the massive consumer support for lab diamonds

    • @sadfur8728

      It comes down to the ability for the marketers to instill a sense of rarity and preciousness in their products; people by their nature like to feel elevated above others, and being able to lay claim to owning and possessing something that others can't is what generates the value that isn't inherent in any of the physical attributes. It must be something coveted by the majority for it to have any value; if it's readily available to all, the prices will decrease as it becomes too common for people to achieve that feeling of elevation they want.

    I love how he just skims over whether or not you can tell the difference. He just says the reasons why they are similar. This means to me is that you can't tell the difference and he's just trying to make natural diamonds seem like a more valuable choice.

    • @calidude2816
      @calidude2816 2 роки тому

      Visually you can’t tell the difference. If the lab grown diamond isn’t inscribed, it’ll need to be put under a cvd/hpht tester

    What he forgot to mention is that a Natural diamond (2ct) is $20k and will loose 20-30% of its value the moment you pay for it, so that's a $4-6k loss, instantly, plus, you will loose over 30% of it's worth trying to pawn it, so another $6k gone when you try to sell it, for a lab grown, you would actually pay $2-5k for the same stone, so if it lost 90% of its value, you would still loose less money than the natural counterpart. So even as an investment, Natural Diamonds will loose you more money in any given escenario

    Hi Andrew I believe you’re miss informed. So when I ask you for a real diamond and you sell me a laboratory grown diamond you now have a LAWSUIT on your hands. This is because although both are made from carbon a natural diamond has monetary value to the industry and lab diamonds are basically worthless. Even worse as technology advances the price and value of lab diamonds is constantly dropping. My complaint about lab diamonds is the price should reflect it’s true value, Instead of confusing costumers by saying it’s the same as a Real natural diamond.
