Greetings from up in Vancouver, Canada, Lucy! A friend of mine recently purchased an '83 Contessa 32. I'm starting to learn to sail and look forward to spending a lot of time on his beautiful boat! We are considering a Vancouver to Hawaii & return in the next couple of years. Anyway, searching out Contessa 32s brought me to your channel, and I'm certainly enjoying it. Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the message. You are certainly in for some fun times on your friend’s Contessa. What is her name? And if you need an extra crew for the Hawaii adventure… 😆
Kia Ora Lucy! You know my dad, Rick, he’s in the Sumner Longboarders. I’m learning to sail in September and we watch your videos together. Happy sailing!
@@sailinglucytemoananui Thanks! She's called 'PISCES' and is a 1978 build. There's a photo on the CO32 Class Association Registered Boats website. The 50th was definitely a hoot - practically everyone was dancing, including those who just finished the Round the Island Race (still wearing their foulies)! I expect that they will publish photos. BTW, I have an extra 50th Anniversary coffee cup from the event and I'm happy to post it to you if you would like it.
@@kbbarton1 Ah Pisces, congrats again, a great decision! That sounds like an awesome weekend haha. I would love a 50th Anniversary coffee cup, that's very kind of you. Do you operate over messenger?
@@sailinglucytemoananui Thanks! I will be the first to admit that I wasn't too keen on that color at first (in fact I had already passed on another CO32 that had that same color) especially since it seemed like it was a very common color, but I guess it just started to grow on me eventually. 🙂
Kia ora Lucy, Nice one! If you ever do decide to sell Nerissa K, let me know... I'm selling a property on the West Coast...then a Contessa is at the top of my list! I'm keen to spend at least a year circumnavigating NZ with my daughter...and then who knows after that! I'm looking for a seaworthy boat no bigger than 30-32' (to keep the budget under control), so obviously a Contessa is right up there as the right boat. Kia pai ō rā whakatā
Mōrena Craig, sounds like a great plan you have there and a Contessa is just the right way to go! Keep in contact, I might know a possible Contessa next year..
Hi Lucy Just wondered if Deb and I could have a look at your Contessa? We are close to Lyttleton. We are still doing research for a purchase and would love your thoughts. Cheees Nick
Hi Nick, I have only just seen your message. I’d be more than happy to show you my Contessa and offer any thoughts, however she is currently with me in Kaikoura and will be up in Nelson soon. Does any of that suit?

Kia ora Kitty! Super cool that you are learning to sail, it’s such a fun thing to do! Hopefully I will be watching sailing videos of you sometime 😎⛵️
We missed you in Lymington for the 50th! I took delivery of my CO32 that weekend and tomorrow will be taking her out for the first time.😁
Congratulations! What a special weekend for you. What is the name of your CO32? I was so disappointed to miss the 50th and it looked like a hoot!
