singingchef23 Failed boxers come over to MMA because if you are a successful boxer, you make more money, no reason to switch. That doesn't mean there are no talented fighters in the UFC, we still have talented wrestlers/juijitsu/Kickboxing and Karate fighters, because you will make more money in UFC than in those sports. The reason celebrities come to UFC is because they want to use grappling, they also get a fair chance to be treated like real fighters, while in boxing they wouldn't be allowed to fight a pro boxer.

I think if you look from an honest perspective, the whole Conor vs. Mayweather is a joke in every way. I always thought UFC was about the best matches. After Rousey getting an immediate title shot, and Conor at 28 trying to fight a 40 year old 2 years removed from his sport, I find all of this to be a joke. singingchef23 MMA definitely goes for money grabs because they are a business and they want money. If you're a big star, the UFC will give you a shot. Of course Conor can't beat floyd in a boxing match and it's a joke, but fans will buy it and the promotion for the fight would be very entertaining. The UFC is in the entertainment business, they care about entertaining people. Most people in the UFC have to fight the best, but big stars like Conor can kind of dodge and do big money fights and again they are allowed because of the money. I still wouldn't call MMA a joke because even big stars like Conor will have to fight number one contenders after a money fight or two. I think conor will fight the winner of tony and Khabib. Boxing is no better though, we have Floyd who can dodge fights for 5 years, that would never happen with two fighters in the same division, in the UFC. I personally don't worry to much about freak show matches, as long as we still get the real fights, it's fine. Boxing apparently would also allow Conor to fight floyd, Conor is not a boxer, so again boxing is really no better.
