I have the California model, and have the valve but hesitant to install it as the California model has a vapor recovery canister some what inline. has anyone installed on a California model

I’m sorry if I missed it, but where is the link for the kit you purchased?
Or drill a very small hole in your gas tank cap, right? I assume this problem exists because they didn’t elect to use a vented cap.
A vented cap will allow water into full tank from washing the machine or getting in water above tank cap
Why don't you just turn the factory valve up side down ??
in case you rollover; in which case fuel can run out. Thats pretty much the only reason.
