Rodrigues and Shamal Travels is a partnership the transcends commercial relationship. The Tournee Rodriguaise 2023 led by Mr. Jean Harlain Bègue, Director of Discovery Rodrigues made an important stop at Shamal Travels office in Quatre Bornes. The significant direct and indirect contribution of Shamal Travels to the economy of Rodrigues deeply rooted in the commercial initiatives starting since 2014.
Our Director, Mr Ajmal Tincowree told the story of how the commercial initiatives began back in 2014 with a very basic idea but executed with sheer grit and passion by Shamal Travels’ team. The stimulation of the demand, the competition that this created and travellers satisfaction drove the trend culminating into record sales in 2019.
He also highlighted the major setbacks and challenges the industry faced during the Covid days and how against all odds and with sheer willpower the industry recovered in 2023. He mentioned the importance of coordinated efforts towards a common goal and how to remain steadfast despite adversity and challenges.
