Using a Die Plate as a Stencil - 5 Minute Cards

- It's easy to use a die plate, (or cover plate) as a stencil with a little Masking Magic Masking Paper! Just cut the Masking Magic with the die plate and adhere it to the card stock. In this video, I show you how soft and pretty the effect can be and how to turn it into a quick and easy holiday card! Although this one takes about seven minutes, it still falls into the fast category and if you precut your die cut pieces, you can make fast work of mass producing this design.

Gina, your card is just so pretty. I have one of the master layouts and the snowflakes on order. I love the way that you always have a thin black border around your focal piece. I bought some blank mylar so that I can cut my own stencils using background dies.
I can’t quite figure out what mil thickness mylar that will cut with my die cutting machine- what works for you?

I have cut them out of acetate that way they clean off well and they can be used over again like new.
Gina I love your shows and I've your techniques a thousand times with great joy. May I ask you to consider showing us how we can use our stamps, stencils, dies and embossing folders to make Christmas gifts or other decorations? Your show about how to stamp candles was genius! I accidentally used my embossing folder on a plan old brown lunch bag and the result was gorgeous! What else can we do with our supplies? I figure if anyone would know, it would be you! Thank you for many enjoyable hours and inspiration :D

Custom hand-carved
If you decorated a room all in light colors, unrelieved by anything dark, it is said to float. That isn’t good! You use black or dark colors to ‘ground’ your room. To me that is the purpose of the black mat.
