At this very moment I want you to check yourself, are you clenching your jaw right now? Is there tension in the muscles of the jaw?
    .
A lot of us-me included-when we are stressed, angry, or concentrating hard on a project tend to clench our jaw.
    .
We need to break this cycle now-clenching during the day can actually lead to night grinding
    .
Do you know the jaw has a resting position?-yup there’s only one position your jaw should be in when it’s not eating, drinking, or talking!
    .
This resting position allows for our jaw muscles to be relaxed and therefore prevents tension in the muscles and formation of knots-which can cause TMD, headaches, and jaw pain.
    .
🌟Remember: tongue in the roof of your mouth-teeth apart-lips together🌟
    .
How do you stop clenching when it’s a subconscious act- By checking yourself!-set a timer every 30 minutes and when it goes off check to see if your clenching your jaw
    .
Every time you notice yourself clenching get into this resting position and give those muscles a break! The more often you can do this THE BETTER!
    .
So I’m curious--were you clenching when you stumbled upon this post?👇🏻
    .
If you’re a clencher (like me), odds are you probably have some jaw dysfunction that needs checked out before further problems persist-and if that’s you then you’re in the right place-schedule with your fave chiro to knock out that jaw dysfunction👊🏻
