  • A dramatic reading of the Forward + Chapters 1 and 2 of Into The Wild an internationally bestselling non-fiction novel by Jon Krakauer. Reading performed by amateur voice actor and book narration enthusiast, Nick Sal.
For any of my subscribers who enjoyed my reading of Hatchet by Gary Paulson, this is a great follow up (that is, if you/your young listeners are at least in Highschool, as this is a REAL outdoor adventure/survival story where it's revealed right on the first pages that the protagonist dies at the end).
NOTE: I have a short pre-amble at the beginning of the video and I start reading page 1 at 2:50
Thanks in advance for your comments and feedback!

Wall in Iraq and some of the most insane combat you can imagine on my free time I read books so many I can't even tell however I do remember the first book I read when I got home and out of the army. I picked this book off my dad's bookshelf and read it on the back porch as I smoked my cigarettes my cigarettes over the course of a few weeks when I got done I said Dad this is a phenomenal book and an amazing story my dad said the guy was an idiot had no clue what he was doing I just smiled and said I'll be in for dinner in a minute knowing he would never know what it's like to truly go into the wild of the world . Book is phenomenal movie is great both different if you like the movie you love the book and if you love the book you'll completely understand the movie on my playlist as I go to sleep every night I just got the book to read again

Thanks, LJ. That’s kindof what I was hoping for / going for. I imagine my own kids on the other end of the video and try to think of areas where I would pause just to make sure they were still following along. Glad you’re enjoying and thanks so much for leaving feedback so I know what’s resonating with people or not! Stay tuned!

Wow awesome, Hunter! I love your country! I visited there for a month during a term abroad in college. Your country’s adoption of renewable energy resources (what we studied) was super impressive!! And the towns, the mountains, the culture, the extreme sports, all of it was awesome. Thanks for listening in. You better believe I got Call of the Wild on my book pile on deck (or close to it). I’ve taken a bit of a summer hiatus but I’ll be back in action with more chapters of the current two books I’m reading then then Call of The Wild is one of the next pair that I’ll do! Stay tuned, my friend! Keep in touch! 😊

Acknowledged, Richard. I try to keep myself to 2-3 comments max as indeed I don’t want to break too much from the flow of the boom but I also am trying to add something additional/original from the standard audiobook recordings available commercially or elsewhere on UA-cam. Realize this comes at the expense of turning off people coming just for the pure book content (which I totally get and respect if that’s what you’re after) but I hope you’ll stick around and my occasional personal reactions/comments *might* grow on you and create a feeling of me reading with you more personally and a tad interactively like our teachers used to do at school. That’s MY thinking on the approach, but I welcome your feedback on it (and others!). Either way thanks for checking out my content and leaving honest feedback. I value hearing it.
