An old jazz drummer friend used to relate stories of how Mr. Welk was ridiculed for the styles of his shows but he heard many stories from musician friends about how you wouldn't find a nicer fellow to work for in the whole world.
I always thought that Dianne seemed to act superior to the other girls, perhaps because she was the oldest. I got the impression she thought she was the star of the group.
