I like shading inks as they are visually interesting yet don't usually require any special consideration when it comes to the type of pen you're using or cleaning/pen maintenance issues.
The inks are pretty but May’s nails are the star of the show! Those look amazing.
Love this video! I think it’d be cool to see the top sellers from different color tones as well, ie: top light blue inks, top dark pink/burgundy inks, top warm-green ink colors, etc. (I know this might sound nuts haha.)
The best sellers for blue are a surprise-they’re not the typical ones I expected. Nice to be introduced to some different inks.

i’d like to see the top pigment inks overall ! i have cats that love my journals so much that they will have bath time on them so i tend to favor water-resistant/proof inks🥴
Such a cat thing. Why do they have to be like that? I rarely turned in a school art project that the cat didn't crunch by getting on it.

Surprised at not a single traditional blue in there. Two suggestions. First, use multiple, different papers for each ink. Most inks perform differently (sometimes greatly) on different types of paper. Two, when swatching with a glass dip pen, use a plastic cup for rinsing. A glass cup increases the possibility of damaging the nib. Thanks.
Thanks for the suggestions! Good point about swatching them on different papers :) We do use a plastic cup for rinsing - we learned from having a couple of these break on us!! haha

Those nails are amazing. I really enjoyed this, seeing how different the blues are. Cloudy Day is my favourite.
So interesting! I wonder if folks use these lighter colours more for art (ink washes, for example) than for writing. (p s. your nails are insane, May. I'd totally hurt myself if I tried wearing those. 😜😂)

That Lennon Tool Bar Cloudy Day is green/gray. Ink Institute Cat At Dusk is not blue either. Celadon is not blue... its a green. The last one... That is a glorious blue. I've never tried an Ink Institute before. Nekoyanagi is purple, not blue.
Hahah our interpretation of blue is causing a stir! I guess these are more in the blue family :)
You can save money on dip pens with those nails!
What is the dip pen you are using called.
Looks to me like the standard R & K, but they will have to confirm.
The one we used is the J Herbin straight glass dip pen! :)

I can’t believe people actually write with the super-light inks. They aren’t even legible when used in a fountain pen!
