  • "Resiliency of the People" is an encampment of seven teepees at the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, as part of Yellowstone Revealed (August 17-28 2022), for the 150th Anniversary of Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone Revealed is a series of place-based projects by an inter-tribal group of Indigenous artists and scholars. This particular installation is a joint effort of the Pretty Shield Foundation, Mountain Time Arts, the Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council, and others.
William Snell, Jr. (President of the Pretty Shield Foundation and Executive Director of Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council) was kind enough to share with us some words on "Resiliency of the People", the elements of the lodge, and other words on Indigenous connections to these lands, past and present.
