Partnerships to clean up abandoned mines in Montana

  • The Musselshell Watershed Coalition is made up of residents from five counties, Water User Associations, Conservation Districts, and various agencies. Collectively, they work together on restoration projects and methods of water use that benefit the entirety of the Musselshell River ecosystem. Much of their work focuses on restoring the natural floodplain and meander of the river, which has several benefits including improved water quality and quantity, improved wildlife habitat, and flood impact prevention.
