    This is what a winner sounds like, not pressured not begging any player to stay, just talking wisdom. Challenging his team & organization to take the good with the bad, man up and take the challenge to up your level. Spurs did it - why can't this team?

    It's funny that Pat Riley was saying don't run out the first door, but he told LeBron to run out the first door in Cleveland in 2010 when he was trying to recruit him. Plus, he faxed out the first door he saw with the Knicks and went to Miami.He always took advantage of players in unhappy situations (i.e. Shaq and LeBron). At least, LeBron honored his contractual agreement while Riley left the Knicks with one more year left on his deal. The NBA is a business, it was a business decision for LeBron to go Miami and it was a business/personal decision for him to come back to Cleveland. In the words of Wesley Snipes (aka Nino Brown) "It's always business, never personal." Even Alonzo Mourning left the Heat for a little while and then he came back. Pat Riley wanted it both ways and he was upset that he can't have it both ways.

    Lebron is a HUGE reason why the Heat have gone to four straight finals, not to mention the Heat are in the noncompetitive East. If he goes to another team they will also have a good chance of winning a championship. His team disappeared on him during the Finals. Wade was terrible and Bosh wasn't good either. The Spurs bench was way superior to the Heat bench and Spoelstra got totally outcoached. A TON of changes need to be made if they want to win it next year. Also, the Heat fans are the worst fans in the NBA. I wouldn't fault Lebron for wanting to leave.

  • @franchisemixeshd
    @franchisemixeshd 10 років тому +1

    I hear what Riley is saying. However if I was LeBron this is how I would view it. He has come to Miami to win a championship or two, which he has done. He said he would like to one day bring a championship to Cleveland. I think he had a great run in Miami, but I think it's time to go home. It would be a perfect way to close out his prime years. Pat Riley is class personified, he is a great guy to have in the front office and a great guy overall. The Heat will contend again soon with or without LeBron.

    Endorsement deals kills the Dynasty Era. Duncan and the spurs are the last of a dieing breed. Riley is really quoting the length of time the teams were a dynasty. 1:55 obviously bulls never lost a title bulls (6 apperances 6 wins)
    spurs (6 appearances 5rings) that lakers team might be the greatest of all-time,in the 80s, They had (9 appearances 5ings). That means the 80s lakers team won the west conference for an entire decade minus 2 years from 80- 1991. now i see why hes so pissed, they were just getting warmup, the heat, and he knewj ames was done. he knew it, hes knows james has another 4 title apperances left in him.Thats why hes quoting the numbers. BAck in the day endorsement deals werent around like this, thats why james can afford too roll out.

    Funny listening to this months later after Lebron left, I can see why this would have helped him make the decision to leave. Basically he is saying it is ok to lose, we expected to lose, so just deal with it. Imagine Phil Jackson saying that to Jordan??? Lebron must have been like, wait, I can play with a younger, better team for more money and this dude is talking to me like you should expect to lose? I'm out! Bad move Pat.

    pat riley is right. magic never left lakers even when they lost. he stuck with it. the spurs stuck with it. did yal expect heat to win 7 champions like lebron said. the heat actually had a good bench. spoelstra never really used them throughout the season. coaching. look at spurs bench, some of those would be in the d league if they did not play for the spurs. what cements the friendships is riding together and dying together. and rising together. #spurs

    The Heat would never have won another chip. Wade declined like crazy and then Bosh was out of the league. He jumped ship just before sht went downhill lol. Even Pat Riley texted LeBron before Game 7 in 2016 before he won saying he understood why he went back to Cleveland. He would have had a scarlet letter in his back if he never went back.
    Heat shouldn't have amnestied players and signed bad vets if they seriously wanted to win in 2014.

    When will everyone learn that Lebron is a cry baby that doesn't care about anyone but himself. When he loses he blames his team mates just like he did in Cleveland. He blames the organization, team, coaches everyone but himself. He might have NBA records, but he doesn't have the heart of Jordan, Kobe, or any other NBA superstar. He is lazy, and gives up when his team is losing. He passes when he should draw fouls. He will leave Miami and leave the fans just like Cleveland. he will look for the next team that has a chance for a ring with, instead of hanging and trying to win with his Heat team. He does know how to insult team mates then leave. Are the Spurs looking for a free agent, don't be surprised Heat fans. that's the kind of guy he is.

    This press conference, sounds great. Was awful. This guy did nothing of worth in 4 years. I know before that he was king, but the miami bench is shocking. All the good guys followed lebron. Riley did not get lebron, wade did. So Lebron hated this press conference, telling the world he was expecting before he told anyone. This was stupid. It sounds great but it was counter-productive, maybe Lebron would have left anyway....but come on this hurt.

    LOL @ the Bulls part.Bulls never had Phil until 1991. So they won6 titles in8 years.

    Pat was reaching there.

    • @ManhattanProject9
      @ManhattanProject9 7 років тому +1

      Phil Jackson's inclusion doesn't change the fact that Kobe and Shaq played together for 4 years and didn't win the championship. You can't choose years when they had a coach to start counting. LeBron had David Blatt and Mike Brown as his coach, are we allowed to exclude those years? Well, why not? He didn't have Phil Jackson, right? He didn't have Erik Spolestra, right?
      There were parts he was reaching but Phil Jackson joining the team shouldn't excuse the fact that Shaq and Kobe played together for 4 years and didn't win.
