Doc, I like what you doing with the education of BIOCHAR. One technique that I’ve used up north that addresses the penetration of char into the root system from day one is using a plugging machine. Golf courses and landscapers use them for aeration. The unwanted plugs are collected and added directly to my mulch pile. I’ve found a five inch plugger does a great job allowing the char to be built up at the root level. An added benefit is both water retention and water disbursing. Love your content, good luck with your future endeavors.
Went through 1 bag in 2 months on 1000 sq ft. First half was tilled in before Zoysia seeding. Second half of bag put out last weekend on top of my baby grass. Getting ready to order up another bag this pay day. Thanks for a great product Doc!
I put PGF complete & just one bag of Humichar & my lawn is Super green & growing like crazy still after 2 months . This saved my lawn .. just follow the steps. Thanks Doc & Anderson’s !
Just found you a couple weeks, I immediately ordered and put out 80lbs of Humichar. I live in South west Louisiana and my yard is in a battle. With two types of grass.
Hey Doc, Would aerating before putting down humichar make the process work faster? seems like the humichar getting in the aerate holes would speed it up.... thanks!!!
I noticed that thing on the side of the spreader and wondered if it was some sort of GPS like the farmers have on their tractors to keep the rows straight. So glad that you mentioned it and said it was a laser. LOL, a GPS on a lawn spreader would be over-kill!
Awesome video! Does it help the humichar get lower near the roots if you aerate your lawn first? So the holes allow the deeper penetration to the root level?
I'm going to be working on some leveling(with dirt) on my yard later this summer and early this fall(before seeding) kbg in Iowa - I'm thinking to core aerate and heavy Humichar first, but how much per 1000 should I aim to put down?
Great info! Just into lawn care and have been watching you're videos for tips. Im about to put down 3,000sq ft of tiftuf in my front yard and i believe you said it was good idea to put down the humichar before its layed, right? Along with the humichar, would it be beneficial to add PGF complete before the sod is put down or just top apply PGF after?
Great Video DOC, It's really to bad we can't get any of these products here in Canada, I have clay soil that is almost like concrete. Next year I've decided to replace my entire lawn and re sod or re seed the entire area with about 6 inches of sandy loam dirt. Problem where I live is we have very long and cold winters. its very tough to keep up and have a great lawn, even here in Canada I've learned a lot from your videos and your knowledge.. cheers.
I live in Florida with St Augustine grass. I have about 2 acres of lawn and during the summer heat and droughts I get spots that stress and die. I suspect there are variations of soil throughout my yard and the stressed areas tend to be very sandy and don't hold moisture. Would this Humichar help in these areas and how much? I can't afford to do the entire yard initially but would like to hit these compromised areas over time. How much area does one bag cover?
Back when I was in high school my best friend and I were raking leaves and burning them at his mother's house in the fall. Her lawn looked horrible and had a lot of patchy areas. I remembered seeing a documentary or something on discovery showing the before and after of a forest fire, then they showed how alive the vegetation became after it started growing again. I made this suggestion to my best friend about burning the lawn and explained how it would bring it back to life. His mom and stepdad were so furious when they saw what we had done. The next spring they thanked me for how beautiful their lawn looked and grew to become. Come late spring they were upset with me again because then they had to mow more often. 😆. The biochar seems to be the same basis of adding charcoal to the soil but more controlled and better nutrition for the soil. Thank you for the video explaining the benefits, Looking forward to see what biochar does to my lawn. Just waiting on my soil test before I start by lawn renovation project. 😊
Good information. Thanks Doc. Gotta get into the Bermuda 2020 but I am in Canada so Bermuda probably won't work. Where I live it may get to 80* F. Maybe!
So I’m in the Fort Worth, TX area and we have a ton of rock and clay. Would this work to improve my soil? It’s a new home so they used rolled Bermuda and did not do a good job at it. Many gaps and very little soil they used when they laid it down
Our soils are pretty salty in AZ. I have heard it is good to soak bio char prior to prior to working into the soil to remove the salts from the char. Do you know if the bio char was pre-soaked prior to being turned into pellets? TIA
Doc is it good to put down Hydretain and also Prophesy all year long or is there a time to put on my lawn I have zenith zoyzia grass? it's a warm season grass I think it's close to Bermuda.
Can you use Humichar near well drinking water? Obviously don’t want to start poisoning my family. It sounds like they are little “sponges” holding water which could be tough for Well Water as well.
Hey Doc, thanks for another great video. I just put down around 3,600 sqft of Tiftuf down in my backyard. After 3 weeks I started to see signs of Japanese beetles and larvae. It has done a number on my lawn. I have put Duocide down but I’m just wondering if damage grass will recovery?
I'm excited to try Humichar on my lawn here in Clay County MO. Like my lawn, the soil in my foundation planting beds is also clay and could benefit from Humichar. I was wondering if the DG carbon will be able to pass through the landscape cloth that is under the mulch and move into the foundation bed soil? Thanks for all your informative videos & cutting edge lawn care product research.
Hey Doc. Do you know what Bermuda seeds to buy. The ones you have on your site are. currently unavailable. Do you have any more suggestions or links to some other one’s?
As much as i would love a Bermuda lawn, living in the Pacific Northwest makes that impossible. Looking to do my first application of humichar in August.
Hey Doc, love the videos man and your yard has transformed to a new level in the past 3 years. I give you that.. My question is, what does biochar do that can't be done with straight humid acid? I get the whole technical terms, but whats difference would my yard get, over time, if i switched from humid acid to humichar? I'm a firm believer in humic acid. I live in the south and I apply humic acid 11 months out of the year.. I only have a 6000 sq ft yard and I've seen what humic acid, over time has improved my soil. I would be willing to change but if I'm going to get the same results I cant justify spending more money if its not going to take my yard to a whole new level.
The richest soil in the world was made by adding BIOCHAR. (great video to watch FYI) HUMICHAR is HUMIC DG plus 50% biochar. The best of both worlds. Humic is GOOD... but short lived benefits. Biochar is forever.
The higher cost this year is due to the COVID shutdowns. I covered that in a previous video. The biochar is being trucked across county due to local plants forced to shut down. Hope it will drop next year.
Is it possible to get super juice in Canada? I’m not holding my breath but would love to get my hands on it as I actually understand how it works from watching your videos! 👌🏼🇨🇦
Hey doc... my question is when I put humichar and the chicken 🐔 feed down do I activate it with the microbial pack or will there be microbial activity automatically.
Doc! The garden looks great this year. But it seems that you have had a tremendous amount of rain this year. Do you think the garden would be producing as much or as healthy if you was in more of a drought?
@@HowTowithDoc thanks! I actually live in mid-north ga too & am a brand new homeowner! Thanks for your content, any tips for a complete novice w/bremuda? TruGreen has failed me the last year... lesson learned!
Hey Doc. Love your channel. I live Grand Junction Colorado. Just bought a home and my backyard is a mess. Will the biochar work with my soil type? We have clay soil as well, I assume yes?
Do you know anything about hydretain? I just started putting humichar down this year and also just put down some hydretrain and wanted to make sure that was ok
Thank you for all the help. I bought a house with Bermuda two years ago. Never had a Bermuda lawn. I was infested with weeds and even centipede patches. I used the humichar this year and it seems to help. I have killed most of the the centipede during the winter months.any way to kill it now, I still have several patches in my bermuda lawn. Thanks, frank
Have 4,000 ft² in my front and side yards and really hard compacted clay soil in Charlotte, NC. Been trying to put 40 pounds per month on it during the bermuda growing season. Overkill or nah??
So you said you did a two month test or did I hear that wrong? Also, the end goal is to use less nutrients do you have soil analysis over time to back this claim. I know your lawn is beautiful but how long have you used that product on this lawn? Everything you are saying seems to make sense but I would like more lab tested results before I spend that much money. It almost seems to be staining the soil but how do we know there is increased water retention and increased benificial microbiology in the soil? Love the vids but always a life long skeptic when claims are made with a lack of credible evidence.
Do you actually recommend these products ? Without being sponsored..... I know alot of people want an actually UNBIASED review....Without being sponsored
Well.......... I invented the product. Kind of hard to be unbiased when you spent a year developing a good product. That's the honest way of saying it.

I like when your videos are atleast 25min because I learn more. Thanks you.👊🏿
I remember watching Charo play guitar for the first time, she shreds!
The other two chars work too
One of the best produced videos I've ever seen. Thank you so much, great video...
I just saw your ad on a completely unrelated video and wanted to come over and say congrats. This product seems AMAZING!!!
Just found you a couple weeks, I immediately ordered and put out 80lbs of Humichar. I live in South west Louisiana and my yard is in a battle. With two types of grass.
Thank you for educating me on this. Just ordered some and plan to get it put out.
Hey Doc, Would aerating before putting down humichar make the process work faster? seems like the humichar getting in the aerate holes would speed it up.... thanks!!!
I really enjoy your videos. Live in central Florida, have St, Augustine (10,000+ square feet) and have just started using your products on my lawn.
I noticed that thing on the side of the spreader and wondered if it was some sort of GPS like the farmers have on their tractors to keep the rows straight. So glad that you mentioned it and said it was a laser. LOL, a GPS on a lawn spreader would be over-kill!
PGF complete 3 apps of humichar and super juice best my yard has ever looked. My neighbors keep asking me what I’m using and I tell em to go watch doc
Your lawn is incredible, thanks for the informative video!
Thanks for your hard work doc. Hope my lawn gets as good as yours one day. But mine is 5 times the size of yours.
Awesome video! Does it help the humichar get lower near the roots if you aerate your lawn first? So the holes allow the deeper penetration to the root level?
Thanks doc I learned a lot from u my lawn is looking good thanks for ur videos.
Added to my 20 gallon grow bags (2nd year testing) for tomatoes cucumbers and peppers they are going insane after a late start in PA😁👍🤙
🌞Noticed you had a green lazer on the spreader. Pretty cool idea!! 🌞
Yes... the girls freak out over LINES.... video coming later.
Question. what's the difference if I add potash from my fireplace to composted soil?
Hi Doc, great video. We need humichar in the UK! Are there any UK stockists?
I'm going to be working on some leveling(with dirt) on my yard later this summer and early this fall(before seeding) kbg in Iowa - I'm thinking to core aerate and heavy Humichar first, but how much per 1000 should I aim to put down?
If you apply biochar and at the same time aerate the lawn, will it not penatrate the soil easely?
Great explanation of bio char.
Awesome! I learn a lot from you. Thank you millions for my benefit. Thank again

Doc, we’ve got heavy rain in the next three days forecast. Would you put down PGF before it rained or after??
Thank you for turning me on to this product. Dealing with good old Kansas clay soil. How frequently can I/should I apply?
While my lawn is a wreck, I am still putting the humichar down. I know you are a bermuda guy, but what's your thought on zoysia?
How soon after laying new sod lawn would it be ok to lay this ?
I live in Florida with St Augustine grass. I have about 2 acres of lawn and during the summer heat and droughts I get spots that stress and die. I don't think it will SOLVE your issue. BIOCHAR does hold water as well so it may help.
Thanks for the great info Doc!!
Doc, What is the pipe below your fence? Drainage? and if so how?
Anything wrong with adding Humichar over the winter? Other than it sits there til the gound comes out of frost?
No but the only issue being is that it doesn't LOAD like it does in the growing season.
Core aerate the lawn and then add biochar?
So if you renovate and till the yard should you use biochar or humichar

I can't get Humichar in Canada, but I grabbed, Andersons humic DG. What's the difference and how should I apply?
So I’m in the Fort Worth, TX area and we have a ton of rock and clay. Would this work to improve my soil? It’s a new home so they used rolled Bermuda and did not do a good job at it. Many gaps and very little soil they used when they laid it down

The prophesy can go down as soon as warm temps hit to prevent.... or go down when first seen.
Can you use Humichar near well drinking water? Obviously don’t want to start poisoning my family. It sounds like they are little “sponges” holding water which could be tough for Well Water as well.
After core aeration should I add Humachar the soil then top dressing ?
Yes, watch the recent videos.

Yes, just do a second treatment of the DUO in 30 days and a little PGF it will take about 6 weeks.

I have a small lawn and would consider if I could get a smaller bag
It's lasts for years in storage FYI.

Can you put down Humichar in the summer in Arizona?
Any time of the year........ anywhere in the world............
Can I still get the Lawn God shirts?
Great video but I’m curious of when the growth regulator video is coming out
What is the difference between humeric acid and humachar
First bag is currently out for delivery today! How much should I put down at a time?
There really is no limit. Feel free to do light coats every 2 weeks if you want.
Our soil in Chattanooga is just like yours except ours is 50% rock . You would never get a nice chunk of sod out of our lawns with just a shovel.
Hey doc... my question is when I put humichar and the chicken 🐔 feed down do I activate it with the microbial pack or will there be microbial activity automatically.
This time of year it will be fine alone.
Doc! The garden looks great this year. But it seems that you have had a tremendous amount of rain this year. Do you think the garden would be producing as much or as healthy if you was in more of a drought?
I'd rather have the drought to be honest. All the rain is causing more fungus and disease than normal. I've got plenty of water.
So if this dissolves in water, then how can it act as a sponge/coral/place for nutrients to live and attach to?
DG ... "Disbursable Granule" It does not dissolve. It releases 1000s of sub-particles of carbon and the carbon remains for 100s of years.
Yes it will........... we're solid RED clay here.
Why not aeration?
Would it be beneficial to add this before laying sod?
Yes............ great time because you'll never get another chance.
I like the part at 21:14, there's no dust.
Thanks doc. Does this work with all grass types?
Yes
How soon after I apply Humichar can I cut the grass?
Any time........ it's just a matter of MOVEMENT. So apply water so it dissolves and hides in the thatch layer.
Do you know anything about hydretain? I just started putting humichar down this year and also just put down some hydretrain and wanted to make sure that was ok
This is the way I analyze watches😁👍

Hey Doc! do you still cut your lawn with your John Deere ???
No... only reels. Cutting between 1/2 and 3/4"
Have 4,000 ft² in my front and side yards and really hard compacted clay soil in Charlotte, NC. Been trying to put 40 pounds per month on it during the bermuda growing season. Overkill or nah??

I watched a Joe Rogan podcast with Graham Hancock where they talked about ancient civilizations making biochar for farming in the Amazon jungle.
