The rewritten versions hit me a little harder because you can finally hear what ronnie wanted to really say and sing. Like knowing his past and how the songs were fun but with a hidden message person and now its like he said. "Here's the pain I really felt while I wrote these songs in prison" phenomenal artist... holy fuck he is waaaaaaaaaaaay under rated....
I really would like you guys to dig into the coming home album released in 2017. Something really changed him around this time. It should be platinum. Very deep and dark songs. I would put ronnie up at the highest teir of songwriting.
He reamagined his whole life after prison. And i think it made him a better person.

you will also notice that his newer videos like Popular Monster and also The Drug In Me Is Reimagined...that he destroys his past. Popular Monster is shot in a courtroom scene where he kills everybody. It's the same court scene as the original Drug In Me Is You. The girl in The Drug In Me Is Reimagined is the girl from the old album cover, and at the end of the Reimagined, he burns her down.
Except he went to prison before both versions soooooo

Very nice reaction! Ronnie has definitely mastered his art right now. He said on his twitch channel that something else is coming and he just finished in the studio. So hopefully soon we will get more!
I started to get so much into metal and alternative and punk rock in my teenage years and young adulthood. I always unfairly wrote Radke off as a cringy tool. In more recent years ive come to respect and enjoy him as a very very talented musician and vocalist. Guy has stuck through all the shit in his life and continues to create and inspire.
Same, because my friends at the time were calling them posers or cringy compared to our clearly superior bands like Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin or RED...
It’s cool coming back as an adult and seeing how much talent There is in some of those “cringe” bands

He wrote this in prison and he said he wasn’t allowed to sing while locked up so that is a big factor for his voice sounding different as well. He went two years without singing anything.

I don’t know if you watched the trailer for their upcoming shows in April but you can hear redone versions of a bunch of songs in the background. Including Situations from when he was in Escape the Fate as well. I’m hoping that the first night is going to be all the upbeat/metal songs and then the second night is going to be all the redone versions. That’s my hope anyway lol

I do really appreciate it you being so open about emotions with songs. I completely "understand" the feelings. Somtimes a new song feels like you know it forever and it brings back memories while that's something wich is usually the case with songs you really do know from the past. Songs can make me happy or tear me completely apart. Sometimes music awakes such great emotions in you nobody will ever understand cause they're unique and only you really feel them. It's often impossible to explain to another, wich can become annoying at times. But that's more of a personal issue I guess. Anyway love to see people still being able to feel things/not just being dead cold abandoned souls. Btw, all those things I do feel aswell with barok styled environments and old paintings. They're often sad feelings and because of that I don't understand very well when people say nostalgia is ment to exist of positive memories. I guess I'm fucked up 😜
When you read the lyrics out loud, it reads like poetry. It’s like you’re sitting at a club and someone is reading their poetry.
I’m not a poetry connoisseur but I can’t help but think that this, as poetry, would be very well received.
Alice, I love how your mind works. When u spoke about how the new song versions also hit & affect us differently because we ourselves have all grown & are in different places now versus where we were a decade ago was really moving. In other news, Ronnie's entire journey & evolution...as a vocalist, songwriter, artist, father & human is truly remarkable. Worthy of a memoir, autobiography or documentary, IMO.

I know I'm a bit late, but at the end, the girl holding the flowers is the one in the cover 'The Drug In Me Is You', album. When she starts to catch on fire is a way to say that they (or at least Ronnie) are saying goodbye to their past. It's really beautiful and sooooo nostalgic. I always feels like crying with this song.
I loved it! You know, I hadn't thought of it until you said it, and yes, his previous songs were sort of like throat, well, not like the Hu, but in the same neck area. If I had to guess, maybe a range of notes, what, maybe 5 notes? Very good point.

I think you would like RAMMSTEIN- MEIN HERZ BRENTT (piano version) it is a "reimagining" of the original.... If you choose to do it i think youd love it must watch video... But i recommend same as this to watch the original and then the piano version in a double feature

When the reimagined version came out I was so drawn into it ... Don't get me wrong I love the original an it was grand in it's time ... But after hearing it this way it's like this is always how it was ment to be .. it's so whimsical and Tim Burtonisk an instantly feel in love with it an it kinda ruined the original for me since I want to hear this arrangement now .. sort of a passing of the torch I guess
Great reaction again love your guys analysis. 100% agree the song has a different effect later in life with the reimagined version. I dealt with very bad anxiety and depression after high school. Also panic attacks were common for me, luckily I’m over it now but this kind of song hits me hard with all i have gone through in life.
When he was talking about his "reimagined" version he was so mad that he used word "fu*king" 20:25 than just "goddamn" but he wanted to keep the same lyrics :D

When I was a teenager I was so pissed that I wasn’t working and paying taxes, so our government could fund regime changes through the military industrial complex.
He wrote many of these songs in prison. So he couldn't sing loud or yell. So originally the songs were much slower and softer.
