Have a "Rock and Stone" for this amazing paintjob! ✊🏼
As a huge DRG Fan i finally decided to buy the board game. (Would have bought it earlier but my pile of shame needed some attention.)
I love painting minis and i can't wait to get my hands on those.
I'm using army painter speed paints as well as a selection of GW colors.
    Your paintjob looks great! 👌🏼
    Take care!

Thank you so much. These are such a pleasure to paint too. My pile of shame is going to rival the pyramids in Egypt if I don't stop getting kickstarters in, you are not alone in the struggle!

Hey mate, nice work on the miniature. I’ve got some time over Christmas to get some painting done and I’m trying out the slapchop method, I’ve already primed and zenithaled my minis in preparation and one of them is going to have fire giant orange on them so I will take your advice and boost the value in that area. My two pence worth…. If you could tilt your camera so it better lines up with the miniatures it would be really appreciated. I was on a mobile device so I could tilt it, but it would be uncomfortable for me to watch on a pc monitor.

I don't know why they have to just keep naming things with silly new names. I already did the dry brushing after Zenithal on these, and then added that additional paint brushed on white highlight. I guess now that would essentially be slapchop+ highlights? You thinking tilt in camera from the side more? I think my original attempt was from the side more on a few altar quest videos ua-cam.com/video/YvAdgWmxsR8/v-deo.html. I am all for feedback here, I think it looks fine for me top down on my phone and pc, but of course I painted it so that's not a fair assessment of what others see. I currently format the video from 1440x2560(old note 4 samsung doing the recording), and flip it wide screen to 2560x1440 so it isn't so narrow.

@@hopelesshobbyaddict that video you linked (in my view) is much better. I think the slapchop method naming was a joke that the honest war gamer made, and its caught on. Good luck with the channel

New to painting miniatures and from what I’ve gathered speed paints make it a bit simpler. Question about the bases, for the one that really pops are you applying just any of the black speed paints all around for a base coat? And using a spray can for the white accents? If so what spray are you using? And what specifically is zenithal style?

I use either Shaker/rattle flat primer cans or my uber(not) Harbor Freight airbrush setup. Airbrush if there are a lot of fine details and I want to ensure thin coats to not drown them in paint. A few videos I'd say to start with... Brent @ Goobertown presents the basics of base coating good here ua-cam.com/video/v-BlVYFxfRA/v-deo.html
Even better is his recent priming model that covers pros/cons and just about everything you need to get going. ua-cam.com/video/gT2JV3Ks41g/v-deo.html
As far as speed paints being easier to start...yes and no. I started about two years ago (pandemic hobby) with craft paints from Walmart/Michaels, then started testing out a few colors from GW, Valejo, Army painter Warpaints, etc. Lots of people seem to hate on Army painter, but honestly after trying them all, it's economical and works great for me. I really use a little of everything though. Speed paints won't let you practice layering up and highlights, which that first video will take you down that path a bit. Contrast paints, glazes, speedpaints, all sort of fall in this current "get it done fast" approach and now the whole "slapchop" buzz seems to have ramped that up more. I wanted to do this series with a focus on primarily speedpaints and ink glazes to see how as a challenge and introduction as well from one newbie painter to others starting out.

@@hopelesshobbyaddict wow!! Thanks a lot man! This really helped kick start painting my minis!! Subbed to Goobertown and a few others I’ve found along the way.
Loving the deep rock game so far and since painting my minis I’ve started getting into 40k Kill Team 💀 R.I.P wallet 💳

@@afteryourburial I would probably save money honestly if I got into 40k and stopped buying 30lbs kick starter games full of mini's. :)
