      How time goes by so fast. I think about seeing you at the convention near San Francisco right after I got married. You were just a kid. I am so happy for all your accomplishments and you should be very proud.

    Hi Frank,
    I love the step that the bird shown in your video has. I've had birds in the past with the same wing, and they were my best fliers. I tried breeding for that, but wasn't always guaranteed to get it. Great video, keep up your hard work.

      Thank you. It has been fun winning with bloodlines that I have owns from the 70's on. Van Reets go back over 30 years now and they are amazing pigeons.

    I love studying pedigrees and lineages of racing pigeons. Very exciting Frank. Great video. I’ve got a question. You can do a video about it if you’ed like. When you feed your breeders while they’re rearing youngsters. What’s the best feed. With corn, w/o corn, high protein pellets? And if you already have a video about this let me know and i’ll just watch that one. Thank you sir.

      I keep a feeder full of grain in front of the breeders at all times. This is mostly Versele Laga Champion and it does contain corn. You need about a 14 to 16% protein mix whether you use a grain with corn or no corn. I have done both. I also keep a feeder full of Tractor Supply 16% protein chicken pellets. They do not eat much of the pellets but eat enough to give protein plus minerals to the babies. If you use these two things at all times your babies will look and be super. Plenty of minerals also. Here is the video ua-cam.com/video/Jm2DyiOH96M/v-deo.html

    Good to see such pedigrees, Frank. I would love to get a youngster from 321. Are you breeding her now?

      I will be pairing 321 soon. Not sure how I will mate her. I know her young will be amazing pigeons. I have some great competition and on two long races against the wind she was so far ahead it was silly. She scored at all distances from start to finish. Pigeons like this from long lines of champions are always super breeders. I expect generations of champions from her.

    Great content here, Frank. Does 2324 still fill eggs or is he just enjoying retirement?

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  Рік тому +1

      2324 did not fill his eggs in 2023. That was sad. I will try him again this year. If no he will go into the retirement flight pen or ship him to a warmer climate.

      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons That's too bad. You might try the Black Seed/Black Cumin Oil I mentioned before. I don't know if it will help a bird that old, but it can definitely enhance fertility. I have an 18 year old Roller still filling a few eggs, and even though he comes from many generations of long lived, long producing birds, I think the Black Seed Oil definitely helps.
