  • If you fish by yourself a lot, you've probably noticed that it can be tricky sometimes to use a landing net to land fish.
You've got the rod with a fish on in one hand, and a big net in the other, and it can get a little hairy if you're not careful.
In hopes of solving the problem of using nets one-handed, YakAttack came out with the Leverage Landing Net.
It's a net that has a cupped piece to make it easier to use with one arm and in this video, I'm going to share my thoughts on it.
There a lot of things to like about it, but it's not perfect, so I'll share both the pros and cons.
    You'll learn:
    - whether or not it can handle large fish
    - how the design makes it useful for anglers to land fish by themselves
    - how much it costs
    - what to watch out for when using this net
    - and much more
Also, we're not sponsored by YakAttack or any other company, so you can be sure this review is 100% unbiased.
Have you used this net before?
    Have any questions about it?

I’ve been using mine for a couple of months and it’s been great. I’ve seen some wrap a piece of pool noodle around the shaft. I used spray foam in the handle, floats like a bobber now. 👍🏼

Could you please explain what did you do to get the spray foam in the handle? I would really like to try that method.

I own the 12 X20 and it is the best net I ever owned! No regrets. I use it for Blue Crabbing and fishing from my Kayak. Money well spent in my book.
    Nice video!

I’ve had mine for almost 4 yrs and love it. Foam extension version fits in a rod holder perfectly.

Been using the foam extension version for over a year and it has worked great. It Is well built and shows no signs of giving up the ghost. I like the spray foam idea noted below to add floatation. I bought a second one for my wife and she likes it too.

I’ve had this net for a couple of seasons. It’s great from the kayak ... the extra leverage makes landing a fish very easy. It’s very well made. But it’s big and the bend/arm brace create challenges for where you can lay it down. I tend to keep it in a rear rod holder. I have the same feeling about this net as my fly fishing net ... nice when you need one but a PITA the rest of the time.

I agree with you on the price point issue Tony. Is there any way that you can possibly drill a hole into the handle and spray a foam into it? I think at it’s price point this should have been done, however if I am going to spend $80+ on the product I don’t want it to sink into Davey Jones locker either!

Nice video. Saw when you closed it up was unsure how easy it would be to store since the endpoint of the closed net is not a pole?

Good review. I'm mostly fishing for table fish so this looks way too big. Thoughts?
