I like that Redwood Empire starting to branch away from sourced products, first with the Bottled In Bonds and now these. They made their name with those blends and now it's time to stand on their own two feet.
One note on that Foggy Burl back label; using "over seven different types of malt" Wouldn't that be like....eight?

Wild turkey/ russells prices from distillery getting ridiculous
The amount of allocated stuff they are coming out with is a bit much, plus those prices hurt bad
What upset me about the Calumet…tho I like their products, Barton continues to sale their high aged stuff but 1792 12yr is so hard to find

I'm excited about the EC Toasted Rye. I just hope that rebarreling a $25 rye doeent tripple the price. I see the EC Toasted Bourbon selling for upwards of $70 some places. It's good, but it's not THAT good.
Unfortunately my lips will never touch a Four Gate or an Old Carter. $200.00 botles no thanks!
I’ve tried a lot, but I’ve never owned a bottle of either! Hard to spend that kinda money on a single bottle all the time.
The toasted is overpriced for what it is. The rye will be the same I’m sure.

I really enjoyed the Smoke Wagon "Uncut the Younger" and it was much better than the SW Uncut/Unfiltered unfortunately. I certainly would try some Smoke Wagon again but I'm still disappointed over the batch 174b that I paid a lot for and didn't like.
I feel that. I’ve stopped getting the uncut unfiltered too, I just actually enjoy the younger and it’s cheaper so win for me lol

I think their fancy embossed glass would be something like that. Easily one of the coolest bottles in the game. The glass that the straight bourbon is just a regular ole bottle. The new version of the younger won’t be in the dark glass, but going to the clear one that the straight bourbon is in.
Looks like that WT single barrel might be that they’re starting to do WT 101 picks? Confusing considering Kentucky Spirit exists…I’m just going to stick with Russell’s single barrels. Agree with most that the pricing on their limited releases is getting out of control.
I think Kentucky spirit picks are becoming this new label if I understand it correctly. But yeah, their pricing is getting wild!
Some good things to look forward to. With that being said, gonna attempt to not buy as many bottles this year. If prices keep going up, it’s gonna make it a lot easier for me!! Cheers

I suspect Four Gate sourced the Dangerous from the same place that River Roots sourced their first release on seelbachs (which was a 13 year kentucky bourbon finished 6 years in port). It was 146 proof, and swear to god one of the greatest things I've ever tasted. That release was 275. Can't imagine how much the Four Gate is going to cost. Otherwise, the only other 2 releases I'm interested from this list is EC Toasted Rye and Mizunara Barrell.

One time I had Uncut The Younger wasn't impressed and I like Smoke Wagon. As far as Elijah Craig Toasted it's yummy looking forward to Toasted Rye 👍🏻

Is the WT Private Selection younger than Kentucky Spirit?
I’m really not sure. I forgot where I even saw that information, I’m sure RareBird has an article about it. From what I gathered is that whatever they were doing for the ky spirit picks will still be the same, but they will be bottled under that label instead.
Aarón is great at marketing but the younger wasn’t his best, just young mgp. A lot of people liked it though so I’m probably the exception
