- Merry Christmas. Please enjoy some of our memories of Clara at this special time. Clara loved Christmas. It was a time for her to bake cookies, visit old friends and be with the whole family. One Christmas we brought her to visit us in New York City. She had always hoped to see the "Big Tree" at Rockefeller center. As you can see, the joy on her face transported her back into being a kid during the holidays. Seeing her glee was one of the greatest presents I could have ever received. We miss her, but as she said, memories are the greatest gift. Hope you and yours are having a great holiday.

When they ask Clara if she misses cooking and she says no. Lol I love how honest she was. Most people selling a cookbook would probably play it off and say yes but not Clara. ❤

I have a whole playlist of this lovely, sweet lady. I discovered her about a yr ago. When I'm feeling nostalgic I look the episodes up. I also found her book on Alibris. Adore her!
How is it that I miss someone I didn't even know? 😭 Her authenticity, her love for her family, her gratitude for life, shined through her videos and made me feel like she was my Nana too. That's her legacy....she's a Nana to hundreds of thousands of people she never met. Rest well, Clara. Thank you to her grandson for continuing to post. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Perfectly normal… she reminds me of my German Great Grandma born 1886. She would mend socks for the entire family on Sundays after church. Meanwhile cooking something delicious. I sure miss her

Clara always makes my day, week and year. I turn to her whenever I feel the need to sit in my grandmothers Chicago suburban kitchen and listen to story’s, cook, and get straight, no nonsense advice. Thank you Clara for blessing our lives. You are a true angel.

I'm so glad Clara was in this world. And I'm glad her grandson had the forethought to film her and share her with us. She reminds me of my Italian mother, and all of her sisters all rolled into one. When I see Clara, I see my mother, and that makes me happy.

In a culture that so often rewards youth and beauty, Clara is proof of the value of elderly persons who bring comfort, reassurance and stability to this world through life experiences. Her humor , simplicity and wisdom are why I keep turning back to these videos every so often. It's like the warmth sharing a bit of coffee and conversation with an old friend.

People who lived through the depression always seemed to take life as it comes and enjoy what they had, not worry about what they didnt have. Clara reminds me of my own Gram who I lost in 84 at the age of 94. She taught me more than anyone else. Merry Christmas dear Clara and the family that still has all the wonderful memories.
This is one of the first UA-cam channels I found…loved her sweet recipes and cooking. Adorably missed by her family I’m sure.

I started watching Clare's videos when she first posted them. I always loved them and her. She was an amazing awesome lady. I truly miss her. I know she is in heaven. RIP Clara.

I miss her so much.. she was my online grandma. My grandmother was the exact same. I was blessed to inherit her bread bowls and cast iron sets.. all from the early 20th century. And my favorite a Hoosier. Rest In Peace Clara .. grandma ♥️ you live on and thank you for all your wisdom and fantastic food that I now to serve my family..
We miss her too. I felt a certain peace when I listened to her talk about how her life was during the depression. We are so spoiled nowadays, and could all learn something from her if we listen, and realize how blessed we are. Jesus is the reason for the season, not all the gifts that people are in such a frenzy to buy.

My 83 yo aunt and I discovered Clara during the pandemic. We lived on opposite sides of town and didn't get to see each other often, but we loved watching Clara and commenting on her recipes and witticisms. I lost my aunt this past summer and so when Clara popped up on my UA-cam feed I was sad and happy at the same time. I am going to take this as a gift from my Aunt Rose. I miss you Aunt Rose.

I am watching this at 2:44 AM. So very happy to see Clara! The carolers were wonderful. I was thinking of my mother and father who were born in 1921 who are not here now. They too lived through the depression and this makes me think of the good times back then, even though times were uncertain and things were sparse, they made their own fun.
