My favorite Sturm moment is when he dropped a meteor on a childrens hospital.
That killfeed kept going for over a solid minute.
Not even sure why he did that, all those children were on 1hp already...
@@Ultima2343 he got bad luck and got the meteor that target the biggest amount of unit instead of value.
Fake news and anti-sturm propoganda!
There were no childrens deaths in that hospital. Meteor strike can only leave units on 0.1 hp.
Hawke: Again Strum?
Strum: It’s about sending a message Hawke.
@@theunknowncrusader4362 Hawke: “Yes Sir.”

It's time for the new generation of Advance Wars players to face and dread the one thing that traumatized us older players 22 years ago.
STURM WUZ HERE, VON BOLT IZ A LOSUR
It has been a while since Sturm messes with me. Let's get him.
@@Nehfarius I agree Von Bolt is a fucking joke thanks to the CO Tag system. Sasha + Colin = you are not using a CO power. EVER. Oh but we get to use ours and you cannot do shit about it. If there's anything that can ruin Sturm's day, it's Sasha. No meteors for you. Ever.
Oh yeah, I dread this alright....
...cause they FRICKING BUFFED IT!!!
Well, as a member of the new generation of Advance Wars players, I can proudly say that move WRECKED me in the final mission of AW1
Prepare to meteor maker...
Lmao this is so bad
sturm is disappointed
Hey why is there a meteor coming at us?
Life comets you fast
@@squidlump I do approve of this joke.
"Fear is all you have left..."
“Prepare to embrace darkness…“
"Burning Earth!!!"
"Such power... I will regret crushing it"
'You are fodder for my laser!'
The laser sucks in the reboot lol.
Based NOD enjoyer.
On one hand, we lost the "smoking" Sturm victory face.
On the other hand, this design rocks and lets out a bit of steam through the mask upon Meteor Strike activation
Uhhh- no, that isn't smoke, it's steam. Steam from the steamed units we're having!
I don't think anyone could take the evil teapot seriously.
@@Ultima2343 You call a cluster of kanbei tanks 'steamed units'? Is that a regional expression?
@@keiyakins who is the teapot
@@Senneih_cram Sturm. His AW1 sprite is an angry teapot.
I absolutely love the Alarm Sound at the beginning meaning you'll die in this turn. This theme represents so much how Sturm is so powerful
I love how his theme actually gets slower and less upbeat than his normal theme, unlike how most COs get the opposite when they pop their power. That and that alarm at the beginning really sells the idea that your troops have just been devastated by a massive meteor and are now struggling to survive an onslaught of enemy fire, rather than how all the other CO's have this real "yeah time to kick ass!" upbeat power theme.
To me the slower pace symbolizes that he’s going to slow his attacks down during this phase to enjoy taking his time picking your units apart while you have no choice but to helplessly watch.
All I can say when Strum starts launching Meteors
“Pick a God and Pray”
Like taking candy from a babe
Special delivery!
Spongebob, Jesus, Buddha there no time to be picky
I prefer the Aztec pantheon, sacrificing units to the Almighty Meteor seems to appease it.
@@aegisScale “To silence the wrath of the Meteor Shower, 20 mech units were sacrificed to appeal to it.”
I just love how gleefully he voices that line. The VA hamming things up is just wonderful.
Meanwhile the german VA sounds mildly annoyed.^^
I've heard some mixed reactions on this theme being dubstep, but IMO the blaring alarms and the mechanical sounds really sell the vibe of "the ultimate superweapon is being unleashed"
I have said this elsewhere, but…
I simultaneously find it hilarious, and appreciate, how the reboot redesign of Sturm is essentially a bronze 40k Space Marine in a Commissar Trenchcoat.
(Now y’all can’t unsee it. You are welcome…)
Sturm always had been based on pop culture in his redesigns. Design 1 was based on Nintendo enemies. Design 2 was based on Darth Vader. Makes sense that Design 3 would be based on 40k now that 40k is popular.
Edit: I see I pissed off some "smart" people. Sweetheart, just because you aren't a fan doesn't mean the character that has always been pop culture references, isn't a pop culture reference.
Can't be a Space Marine, not enough pauldrons.
@@Nehfarius hah, true
Not everything is about 40k
@@da_BemBem 40k fans acting up like JoJo fans
The moment I saw this in the trailer, I knew Meteor Strike was going to be hype. I had no idea back then that it gave him his own theme too (which we only get to hear in the AW1 campaign, gallery, and Versus I believe since Hot Pursuit and Final Battle in AW2 follow the Factory style of using the standard (S)COP themes, but still).
Final front does not, but he has a different theme, hot pursuit does
I knew from a dev leaking info that we would get character themes, something confirmed when they show nells power in a trailer, and this definitely lived up to expectations
@@shinyrayquaza9I never got to hear theme for Hot Pursuit. I just cheesed it with Grit rockets. Maybe when I eventually get to it in Advanced Campaign
link to said trailer, please; I can't find it
@@keyabrade1861 Here’s the one I was referring to: ua-cam.com/video/bIXU76SfYns/v-deo.html
Not sure which one Ray was referring to.
@@keyabrade1861 it was probably from trailer 2 when they showed early vs mode footage, co select screen
Meteor Strike did not have to slap as HARD as it does.
The theme, or the meteor against the surface of the earth? XD
Sturm could be obliterating my forces and I'll still be jamming to this tune
Such a hype theme, and a moment in the game
Ladies and Gentlemen, the man behind Days of Ruin
Dropping fire beats like sturm drops meteors
I just made a horrible discovery, the Reboot is the first time you get to see Sturm's hands, or any other part of his body save his head....
I dunno why they gave him hands.
@@HighLanderPonyYT so they could make steam come out of them, which looks pretty cool
@@confidentbottle Also you can make the joke that he wants to rule this land with an iron fist
Gave him hands so he could show up in Smash, obviously
It's so it makes more sense when he slaps you around the battlefield
Ah yes - the theme that plays when over half your army is about to get MERCILESSLY pasted by units that glide through forests like roads, pimp slap you better than Max and make Kanbei's troops look wimpy when being shot.
10/10 would get slaughtered by Sturm again.
In both final battles, this dude crashed my game. CO power was too strong apparently
It true, you have better rip quality than other uploader. Thanks
Sturm: Meteor Strike
Andy: Hyper Upgrade! Ha, now all of my units are healed.
Sturm: But now... just what are you going to do about the second Meteor Strike?
Sturm drops the bass harder than he drops meteors.
Such power…and such a shame to crush it…
Mmm I actually like his voice
Craig Lee Thomas is the name
How epic do you want to make Sturm?
Yes
I’ve seen plenty of videos of meteor strike and experiencing it first hand really puts into perspective the strength of this absolute monster of a commander
And yet unlocking his is surprising less stressful
Now dropping sick beats along with that meteor
I heard "Meet your strike!" 😂
My favorite part about Sturm (I mean besides Superior Stats and 8HP Meteors!) is zipping around the Map like a Mad Flea capturing properties while your opponents (execpt CO Power Lash) have to fight Terrain before they get to fight you!
Imagine you think you're the one dominating sturm and having the advantage, until Sturms goes "Hippity Hoppity your strongest units are no longer your property." And summons meteor strike
Face your demise! METEOR CRASH!
"now we are all sons of b...."
2 points hp
🤕
Such power I almost regret destroying it
Thats a nice stack of units you have there.
Would be a shame if something...happened to them~
I love the part where it says weak in snow
mang's switch: i have decided that i want to die
So whatever, I'm just going to throw this out there, what do you think Sturm's face looks like under that armor? is he A humanoid alien(blue skin? pointy ears?) a relatively normal human(if perhaps covered in scars?) or is the armor his actual face because he's a robot? My personal opinion is that he's an incredibly battle scarred human who's been alive a very, very long time, but only recently resurfaced. if you want to hear my full fan theory on Sturm's backstory, click the "read more" button.
Assuming that "Days of Ruin" was a prequel, Sturm was probably alive back then, and he was just another particularly successful(and particularly evil) warlord, shortly after Caulder's death, Sturm found the ruins of his lab, and succeeded where Caulder failed, injecting nanobots into his bloodstream to reverse and prevent aging, Sturm knew he would have to wait until Will, Isabella, and the other heroes of that era died of old age before he could make his move, so he waited, in the meantime he constructed his suit of armor, which is probably bulletproof, resistant to shrapnel, and has a built in gas mask. He also launched a network of satellites into orbit, these satellites were designed to nudge the various chunks of orbiting debris left over from the Days of Ruin meteor strikes out of orbit and drop them on the targets of his choosing(sort of like the OLDS superweapon from Ace Combat infinity, google it.), the only control mechanism for these satellites was built into Sturm's armor(this is rational explanation for how Sturms power works, I have a semi-rational explanation for most of the other co powers as well.), Then Sturm waited, waited for the world to fully recover from it's post-apocalyptic status, and for the world powers to become nice and vulnerable, he also perfected the techniques required to make cheap expendable clone soldiers, at last, after 300 to 500 years of biding his time, he made his move.
Only fear and destruction are left on his wake!
I wish his voice sounded a little bit more like Bane
I won normal campaign at 100%, now the hard one i think they'll eradicate my ass, especially sturm which was tough even in normal
Mmmm that theremin.
POV: You’re about to get fucked up
Games been out for months and I still love the absolute glee that sturm declares meeeeteor strike! And then he murders all my stuff while rad music plays.
The meteor doom himself. I love Sturm more as the big bad than Von Bolt tbh. He's thanos of the GBA🤣
Dang,he’s taking over the Smash Bros Universe.
@@Lemuel928He would actually make for a pretty good mastermind villain in a Smash title. He’s enigmatic, hyper-intelligent, and obscenely powerful.
Von Bolt was literally "Discount Sturm" in playstyle. All while being a terminally ill old man in a wheelchair.
Make sure to not clump up high-priced units together, or you're in big trouble.
P. s. one more thing... too epic they made the reboot
Start this theme ingame then press the R button for info. Sit back and listen. One of the best details in the game. You're welcome.
The Meteor Sturm is in town bitches!
Meeeaaat e-or Strike!
Don't forget the AW2 Sturm theme also.
Nice
He sounds like a Villain that’d be in Power Rangers.
Dance Andy, DANCE FOR YOUR LIFE!
Who would you rather deal with? Sturm as a DJ, but he still has meteor strike along with everything else? Or Greyfield, who gives himself a medal every time he gains a pound and shoots anyone who even thinks about calling him fat?
I feel like at some point greyfield would just become completely immune to bullets from sheer mass of metal covering him,
So id rather deal with Late 90s Big Band
@@therealgeneralMacArthur More likely Greyfield would just absorb bullets into the folds of his fat. But yes, if Sturm was in a good mood from doing awesome music, than he would have no reason to use meteor strike.
Greyfield is essentially a Hitler wannabe that lives off preying on the weak, but cowers like a little girl once he realizes he has no one to hide behind.
Meanwhile Sturm: bitchslaps 3 armies at once
@@SoldierOfFate And once he realizes he has nowhere to go, decides to take himself out and his enemies along with him

The theme for me: "I just bought that Medium Tank!"
People really hating on Sturms voice???
0:19 "Demande authorization de nettoyage zone!" "Reçu!"
I wish this was his default.
God 65 million years ago be like:
Hm...that's sturm voice?....
Anyway in GBA version i only imagine his voice would sounds like knight with armor like Golbez & black knight i guess...
I am very close to beating the AW2 Challenge Campaign and I am not excited for this fight lol
*BURNING EARTH!!!*
Meteor strike? More like meteor crash
Is the guy who voices Sturm the same guy as Coolers VA from Dragon Ball? Cause I’m getting very similar vibes 👀
Was expecting Sturm voice to be deeper, disappointed
I love the beatdrop-esque sound to this one. But I think it's overall pretty underwhelming.
What did they do to my man’s voice 😢
yeah i'm going to sugarcoat it a lot of the voice acting is...kind of bad... Especially whoever it is they got to do Max's voice. Andy's voice actually sounds about what I thought he'd sound like
@@bobdole27 they paid a lot of money for joe from family guy to voice max
@@tangelaspaghetti5174 what?
Arin Hanson voices Max not Patrick Warburton
Make it more robotic and non human? I don't see the problem it fits Stum.
@@Eg0n97 I think its more the voice tone in some later lines. his full sentences in AW2 feels... VERY unatural.
Oh god.. Can voiceovers be turned off..?
not that i know, but to be fair, except the Meeeteor Strike (which slowly grows on me) Stuurms VA did a good job being menacing... so i dont really mind his Voice
Just find anothe OST of sturm and thats it :)😊
I like some of the new stuff but I dont like most of the voice work, I dont like Sturm's new theme, and I dont like the toy aesthetic on the units.
