YEARS later but your vid series on this game is AMAZING. I've started the game over for the third time and missed this aspect AGAIN smh but this vid stopped me from scrapping another 15 hours. Thanks man!
JV, you are my main "go to" source for info on this fantastic upcoming game! You do an excellent job as a moderator, and are very easy to understand and follow with your narrative! As to MEA, this will be a marvelous, enthralling game that will draw us into what is sure to be a terrific story line and action game. This game will have so very many things for us to explore and learn about which is part of what a great game is suppose to do! I watch all your videos to alert me to all the many things there are to do and find in the game. I don't want to "miss out" on any facet of this wonderful game!! Thanks to you!
Mike Pettella Everything else but human animations look great. And honestly I don't care about animations if this game is fun and I care about the story, and characters.
How about some of those lame character replies? Or those cheap comedy jokes? Or the poor voice acting sometimes? Or how bad and uninspired the story starts? It seems they went for quantity over quality. This is not how games should be done. As for the animations, the first ME had somewhat better animations and considering how that game launched 10 years ago, it's unacceptable that we have such poor animations in game now. And it's not just faces, movement as well. People need to hold the developers accountable or they will start releasing more bad quality games since it's clear that they can get away with it. Give credit where credit is due but be honest and criticize the obvious flaws instead of saying it's ok or fine or not noticeable. We're in 2017, older games have better animations, textures, lip sync, not to mention the recent releases. Again, unacceptable for a AAA game and claiming otherwise is doing nothing but to hurt us gamers over the long terms as developers will take notice of how easy it is to get away with it.
Enjoyed your video found it very informative. I did my trial with EA Access and I did notice some wonky facial animations but they were few and far between. A couple of bad lines here and there but nothing game breaking. I'm sure 10 hours is not even remotely scratching the surface of this game and everyone on the internet is jumping to conclusions. I had a blast with it and can't wait till Tuesday to really start my adventure. I ''ll be tuning in for sure. Keep up the good work bro.
Good job on doing this. Now I can decide and jump in right away instead of thinking what to choose when I start the game. Biotic or Technician will be my starting class.
The in-game description for Technician training is actually incorrect. It says it unlocks Invasion, but Invasion is never locked, no matter what training you choose. The real skill it unlocks is Assault Turret.
Overload is my thing....BUT...splattering bugs and no slime on the ground or walls? Maybe pedantic, but I really wanna see that. Worked on the older Nintendos...I mean come on.
Been playing as vanguard yesterday.. (early release here). It definitely is harder on higher difficulty because most of the enemies eat through your shields fast.. Maybe i'm still too early in game and I can still upgrade. My shield. Enjoying it. So far.
This video was so helpful, I get RPG neurosis where I spend too much time worrying about whether I am gimping myself further down the line. This made it easy.
Love these videos. If you take suggestions, I'd enjoy seeing a skill breakdown for the Squadmates, see how each works in combat. I've only seen Cora and Drack's full load outs. I know which companions I want to run with most, and want to make my Ryder complement their roles in the party.
Definitely, but I'm a little worried how biotics will fare against the remnants with their air and tech focus . I don't know if we can charge and melee air units. And pull doesn't work on them well either. Not sure about throw though. Hope there's a solid biotic counter other than lance.
That might be enough. Shotgun looks like it works really well too, they tend to get up close and personal to get over cover. Plus you can pull the few ground units and throw them at the air units. Actually, there should be a "two birds with one stone" achievement for throwing an air unit at another air unit!
Pretty sure we can. I know I've seen Cora do it at least. Still can't figure out if we can melee them right after the charge, or if there'll be time for a quick shotgun shot.
Can't go wrong there! Should be a damage boost, but I doubt it. Big time style points anyway. Would that work against air? Seems like it's a ground pound ability, but that's already the jump heavy melee. Would be awesome if the air nova animation turns into a DBZ short area of attack type move.
Ok, found a multiplayer vid and good news! You can Charge air units, and Nova's 4-6 meter aoe is vertical as well. Since most of the air units hover close to the surface, you can charge/nova with impunity. Even Shockwave hits them! Still not sure about melee, but i don't think that works. Also, you can apparently do a ME3 style full charge/nova with their final tier upgrades. Get +75% recharge on Charge and 0 cooldown on Nova at the cost of shields. You'll only have +50% shield recharge, but melee recharges shields so you could go Charge/Melee/Nova/Charge and probably do well. A more tactical Vanguard is probably better, but it's an option!
Can you tell us about choosing military vs research outposts? Like what we should consider when making this decision and/or if these decisions are make or break?
I like how you're able to customize your twin. Hopefully they become a squadmate too. I'd love to have two humans with matching face tattoos shooting aliens.
I can't wait till it is finally out. I am loving the new class systems and am really looking forward to build my hybrid build of scrapper and biotic, and probably a little leader
So many choices... Also, I didn't get the characterization screen, I jumped straight into the default Scott Ryder. I thought they did away with selecting a specialization. The gave me soldier by default and then when I unlocked vanguard I switched to that. But I might start the game over. I only played 8 hours, I'm sure it will be ok. At least I won't get stuck going around in circles on Eos. Great videos! I subscribed.
My first Ryder is either going to be a Leader or Technician. Second will either be Biotic or Scrapper. Even though I could be a mix of everything, I still like the feeling of being a dedicated class, I guess. So first will be Tech/Combat, second will be Biotic/Combat basically, I'm weird, I know lmao. Looking forward to getting into this, I like what they've done with the class system.
I went full tech , engineer and VI bot. Started with cloak , then switched to engineer profile for tech bonuses. Tech combos all day long That little ball that floats around the engineer has been very helpful on Insanity for enemies that sneak behind you. The ball explodes , when enemies are near you , priming them for combo , then energy drain for tech combo. Also the melee freeze combo works great , freeze melee then energy drain for explosion.
Played Soldier class in the trilogy and I plan to remain so in Andromeda. Only stupid thing, at least according to what you said, I think the Security training should have more carry weight before reducing cool down times. Kinda the point of the class/training...
To add onto Sam, the reduced weight works both ways. It can help you carry more weapons without slowing your abilities to a crawl, or they can allow you to carry light weapons without affecting your maximum cooldowns. So both power heavy and weapon heavy players benefit.
Thanks for this video. Really good information. Have watched this clip 4 times now I think ^^ Loving this system except for one thing: Most of the "Training" options are your training focus, but Scrapper is more of a personality type. I wish they were more neutral, so I could start with Charge without being a brutish... well.. Scrapper :P Like "mobility training" or something like that
Can't wait to play it. March 21st here we come. I'm just going with the soldier class/security. It's simple and I just shoot the darn guys. Scrapper seems cool to try out later and of course the biotics as well. So I have my group of powers I want to use together... then later I'll cloak just for fun. Tuesday will be a very good day!
Festim D Hehe XD And same here, I know a patch one day will come and fix it. But it doesn't bother me or ruin my excitement. Plus sometimes the animation does look pretty good. Who you gonna play first though, Sara or Scott?
Probably scott, i hear he's the sarcastic witty one and Sara is a more professional one. But since app the conversation options really change depending on the ryder you play i definitely will do both How about you?
Festim D For me I'm doing Sara, only because I like her voice actor/voice a bit more. Plus I like her animation a bit better. But I'll do both eventually. I'm gonna replay this game so many times. Which training guide are you gonna start with?
Damn annihilation field might be really good with a vanguard. If you charge in with annihilation field already activated, does the annihilation field prime the target before you hit them, so you detonate them when the charge lands?
If you take Throw as your third power it won't matter. You could Charge in (and probably stagger the target), Annihilation Field primes them, then detonate with Throw. Probably not the most efficient chain but eh.
Matthew Mendez assuming the field is active through the charge, and is fast enough to impact the enemy before you hit them. If so yeah that's gonna be hella good.
Interesting idea, but I doubt it. Would be too easy. I was thinking of closing in with bursts, letting the field prime, then charge as your shields drop. Though charge might recharge fast enough to just use twice. Kinda depends on how long it lasts. Detonating snap freeze will be really good too, though not usable quite as often.
It did in me3, but you could only get annihilation field in single player by modding. And I have a feeling it wont work in mea because it was too OP. But lets hope, i want that build too :)
Can't wait for the game to release. Played the trail. Had fun with it even with the facial animations problems and others things I noticed. Can't wait to romance Jaal.
Man, I don't know which training to select. I think overload has great utility but I'm an adept at heart. I don't know if I should start with throw even though I think it is useless on its own or just go for overload
started as a soldier (as in ME1-3) and chose for a new Savegame as Infiltrator (operator) after i palyed the multiplayer for a few hours. soldier was fun but to hop in and out of combat devestae the enemy with massive jumpattacks or charged long range shots from afar and switch invisible while dodging is SO DYNAMIC. i mean, i sit on a Hill, snipe an enemy, go invisible charge behidn the next rip him apart CQC, dodge (makes you invisible for a split second) Jup up dodge midair Blink pretty much behidn the next enemy drop from the skys with a massive groudn attack, turn arround and burn a bunch of assholes with my Buildin Flamethrower just to pop in invisibility again and laught my ass off about the shivering panic i just createdin the enemy base. all this happens in 3-5 seconds its like a ghost gone renegade. and the same in MP. so amny occasions where my teammate got sorroundet and thought himself dead and suddenly BOOM one enemy explodet by massive stickybomb, ZAPP headshotted another on, he follows the trail of the shot, no one to be seen you ehar the sound of tech above you as i Uncloak and blow all enemys away with a massive groundattack Zapp im goen again and the other enemys just fall on their faces sliced up from behind. no one to say thank you because the infiltrator is long gone, and already raking havok in another enemy group. MHHRMMM cant wait to keep going. Tl;Dr - Try out the skills in MP and start a campaign afterwards, you will be suprised hwo it changes your idea.
I think lance is a different skill altogether. It is a combo detonator, primarily offensive. Warp on the other hand can be both a primer and a detonator aside from being a debuff. The devs probably thought warp is gonna be OP in this new skill system that's why they got rid of it. I'm gonna miss it though.
Today I made new char just to see how it's different from my first one (which i'm gone play in release) and choose a Scrapper training. The first thing I noticed is that on Habitat 7 Raider talks couple of times about "Those days back then in Milky Way" where he/she was on Prothean ruin dig sites. Quiet nice change of dialogues depending on training.
The biotic class is the best one to start off with if you are aiming for a jack of all trades build which I like because it is the closest to the soldier class without the drawbacks of the soldier class
This is exactly the information I was looking for with training and respeccing. I'm curious, which Training are you going to choose? I'm leaning towards Operative, you also mention that you think it is very strong. Do you think Operative is one of the best choices?
I chose scrapper cause I was vangaurd in ME3 but is charge suppose to be a detonator? I thought it was a primer cause my old combo was charge/nova repeat. So do I have to use pull or singularity for primers as a scrapper? Also do the melee bonuses also improve damage with melee weapons or just the default omni tool melee.
Anonymous 9 They do? Huh. Lol I only played through the game once. I suppose that's why I don't remember them mentioning Shepard. I'll have to replay it again and see where they mentioned him/her.
okay i know my build now! i want an operative who has cloak and do damage from far away then go into stealth mode and use melee and over the time (after using a lot of ability points of course!) switch to an adept who prime combos with singularity and cryo beam or flamethrower then detonate with overload and charge! but i don't know which training i should choose from the beginning ! i'm leaning towards operative but if you have any suggestions for me , i would appreciate that!
Hey can you do a video on setting up your favorite profiles... I have 3 profiles unlocked but can't figure out how to set each one up under the favorites so I can switch back and forth.
Wait. What sniper rifle are you using in this vid? I was looking for a one-shot sniper rifle and all I kept finding were these automatic/ semi-automatic sniper rifles. And the ones I could craft all seemed to be automatic. I much prefer the one-shot ones.
Can I change this. I just quick started as default Ryder as I didn't see this. I'm already on the first mission where we're protecting Cora from drop ships and I'd love to have biotic capabilities as it was always an asset in combat in previous ME games.
I played the original trilogy solely as an infiltrator. Thought I'd mix it up and started with biotic to go for more of an adept build. So far really enjoying the combo of pull and throw. Will eventually probably turn into more of a sentinal and pick up good ole tactical cloak
awesome video! I subbed. can you please confirm if those % buffs for each profile increase per level? for instance with the vanguard profile does the 20% increased melee go to like 30%? thanks!
Yep! But pretty sure it's only if you're close enough first. So charge, annihilation, shotgun/melee while on cooldown, then charge for the combo. Or use the jetpack to close the distance quickly and save the charge for after the enemy's primed. You have to be really close though.
damn, I was hoping that since the aura is constantly on you that you might get the combo even if you charge in from a distance. Might just run lance with it as a followup for botic combos.
That'd basically be a one-click instant biotic combo with the fastest ability recharge. Completely overpowered. Cool idea but it'd break the game so hard that you might as well just put it on the lowest difficulty level. Wouldn't even be fun anymore.
About to replay Andromeda after completing the Legendary Edition. Thanks for the video!
Sameeee
Same
Love the flexibility of the system and in conjunction with no level cap, allows for great customization of the abilities.
Worst system ever
Nearly finished my first Mass Effect playthrough via Legendary Edition, going to start Andromeda next. Excited to try this, thanks for the tutorial!

Garrus all bow to our elcor overloards *bows*
Disbelief. Nobody can defeat me - Elcor vanguard
Cheerfully; go Elcor vanguard go
*in monotone Elcor voice*
JV2017gameplay So you want a modified Lazarus project 2.0?
That can be arranged.
omg I can't wait! I preinstalled and I just want it to be ready to go!
REALLY good video. Clear, unbiased towards classes (well, almost, but no one's perfect hahah) and... not-boring ;)
I don't care about facial animations this game still looks amazing
Mike Pettella Everything else but human animations look great. And honestly I don't care about animations if this game is fun and I care about the story, and characters.
Mike Pettella Same
Mike Pettella 99% of the people making the game out yo be trash haven't played it they just want it to be bad and wont even try it
How about some of those lame character replies? Or those cheap comedy jokes? Or the poor voice acting sometimes? Or how bad and uninspired the story starts? It seems they went for quantity over quality. This is not how games should be done.

+Mike Pettella i dont care either
Thanks so much for this vid, I've been looking everywhere for this kind of guide to plan my initial build.
Enjoyed your video found it very informative. I did my trial with EA Access and I did notice some wonky facial animations but they were few and far between. Thanks for this 👍 I'm the type of person that will keep restarting until i find a class i feel for. You saved me several hours probably
Thanks for this guide. I decided to go stealth sniper aka Operative with Tech abilities.
I think I'm going leader. I like the look of that orange armor you get from stealing the enemies shields
I think my favourite thing about the Tac cloak is the alternate evade, just seems really cool to me
You deserve a lot more subscribers than what you have. Awesome video.
Overload is my thing....BUT...splattering bugs and no slime on the ground or walls?
Maybe pedantic, but I really wanna see that. Worked on the older Nintendos...I mean come on.
i saw the CFH and had to leave a comment. hello 👋🤣
@@quesocfh6080 :>
Thanks this is the best opener for helping me pick my class without spoiling the game in anyway, very concise and well made!
This video was really well structured, good job with the scripting and structure.
Been playing as vanguard yesterday.. (early release here). It definitely is harder on higher difficulty because most of the enemies eat through your shields fast.. Maybe i'm still too early in game and I can still upgrade. My shield. Enjoying it. So far.
Thanks for ignoring the hate bandwagon, and bringing content for those that even though aware of the glaring problems, still going to play the game.
This video was so helpful, I get RPG neurosis where I spend too much time worrying about whether I am gimping myself further down the line.
This made it easy.
Great video man I appreciate you to the UA-cam community!
Love these videos. If you take suggestions, I'd enjoy seeing a skill breakdown for the Squadmates, see how each works in combat. I've only seen Cora and Drack's full load outs. I know which companions I want to run with most, and want to make my Ryder complement their roles in the party.
Arella Jardin Yeah, I literally have no idea what Jaal even does, in terms of weapons and powers. Haven't heard anything about him in that regard.
Anyone else going full biotic god?
Definitely, but I'm a little worried how biotics will fare against the remnants with their air and tech focus . I don't know if we can charge and melee air units. And pull doesn't work on them well either. Not sure about throw though. Hope there's a solid biotic counter other than lance.

I like how you're able to customize your twin.
Hopefully they become a squadmate too.
I'd love to have two humans with matching face tattoos shooting aliens.
Alice Kingsleigh I think that they do later in the story, otherwise what's the point in being able to customize the mm
Great video. This really helped me decide my starting training.
THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR
I spent the entire orginal trilogy as an infiltrator, this video definitely turned me on to the leader training
I can't wait till it is finally out. I am loving the new class systems and am really looking forward to build my hybrid build of scrapper and biotic, and probably a little leader
all your vids are on point broski. keep it up!
i love the super fast cool downs so much more ability use 👍

Do what i do when i can't pick; close your eyes and let fate decide xp
I went adept and grabbed overload early on. Shields are the one weakness of biotics so go ahead and get rid of it.
Kaito thanks for the reply man! Sounds like a solid idea. And whatever happened to warp, is lance the equivalent?

Can't choose between: Biotic, Technician, Operative.
Best one for DPS?
Yes
Great job, thanks for the info
im new to the game and im loving it.
The Gadget Geek What training did you pick? I did Security because it's the closest thing to Soldier of the original trilogy.
great vid bro, really helpful
great, thanks this helps!
Just hit the story gate. Already wishing it was tuesday
This is exactly the information I was looking for with training and respeccing. I'm curious, which Training are you going to choose? I'm leaning towards Operative, you also mention that you think it is very strong. Do you think Operative is one of the best choices?
thx dude for your help..i can't decide between Scrapper and Biotic 👺
pick ones that look and feel cool :D
Gracias bro me ayudaste a empezar esta historia saludos desde Chile🇨🇱
really nice video thx mate :D
I chose scrapper cause I was vangaurd in ME3 but is charge suppose to be a detonator? I thought it was a primer cause my old combo was charge/nova repeat. So do I have to use pull or singularity for primers as a scrapper? Also do the melee bonuses also improve damage with melee weapons or just the default omni tool melee.
Woah, haven't seen Vetra's helmet before, cool.
Could you show what powers/abilities your squadmates have please?
going to try Biotic with explorer. Besides biotic powers, I want to use some tech skills and focus on assault rifle for combat.
Thanks for the explanations
can you talk about how choosing the gender of comm. shepard effects the outcome/game, if at all.
Kid Heated They make occasional mention of them, it only affects the pronouns as far as I know.
Cool. Thanks!
Well done video.
Reslly helpful, thanks!
Are you going to do a video on the profiles and the ability they get?
can't wait for Monday woo.
Same picking up deluxe Monday at 8pm probably finish the download in a he morning tho...
Hey can you do a video on setting up your favorite profiles... I have 3 profiles unlocked but can't figure out how to set each one up under the favorites so I can switch back and forth.
With the mass effect Andromeda power Invasion It is a swarm of nanits that infect the target works well against robotic enemies.
I want to try charge annihilation and lance.
Annihilation can replenish 30% shield per kill and lance can have no cooldown replaced with shield cost.
About to load up ME2 to get used to third person shooting again. It looks like there is a ton of single player content and it looks good
Very informative
Sucks that im 2 years late but did anyone play operative?
thanks for the info
I played the original trilogy solely as an infiltrator. Thought I'd mix it up and started with biotic to go for more of an adept build. So far really enjoying the combo of pull and throw. Will eventually probably turn into more of a sentinal and pick up good ole tactical cloak
Infiltrator is super good though in Andromeda because they can use put points into shotguns. This will make give it very explosive damage.
awesome video! I subbed. can you please confirm if those % buffs for each profile increase per level? for instance with the vanguard profile does the 20% increased melee go to like 30%? thanks!
It's allright if anyone wants to mock me, but after 10 hours trial. This might be my GOTY.
Happy gaming.
13adluck nice meme
I started with Biotic training. later spected into Tech so I could use incinerate. set them up with that Then detonate with throw :3
you got a new sub here
scrapper definitely then invest in throw and annihilation. gonna pop so many biotic combos
If you don't pick security, how many points would you need to invest in combat to unlock Concussive Shot?
Thank You
If I charge an enemy with annihilation activated will that result in a botic combo?
I don't think it is possible. Maybe im doing something wrong.
I love operative class
JV, does your training matters, STORY WISE? I mean, dialogue options or companion comments, something like that? Or it is purely a powers choice?
no. why would it?
Well, basically it is your background, isn't? In ME1, there were small consequences depending on your pre-service history and psychological profile.
