I have a 5090 and still pcie x16 at wrong position. This shows how much industry is slow in modification and resistant to change. They think these machines are not for gaming so they don’t care. They feel its not worth their time to spend time on redesign.
I have the same setup,and it's a little bit overheating...but if you put a 80mm fan at front,the video card takes cold air from outside,not heat from power supply..

Hi, do you have dell optiplex 3020 mini tower or small form factor ? ...samll form factor you cant install gtx1650 because pci express x16 slot is on the bottom and top slot is pci express x1 slot wont fit gtx 1650 unless you get mini tower.
That computer is a year old now but it is still very new. I bet that it costs a lot. Where did you buy it? Most of the UA-cam reviewers usually go with most the 790 and the 3010 and some more of the older systems.

The fact that you can't fit it on the x16 pcie slot is a turn off....on a card like those you definitely want to squeeze every bit of horsepower out of it.

When i stalling memory, do you install in order? So for example A1 then A2 (white tabs), and B1 then B2 (black tabs)? I've a 3rd stick so I assume I just install that in B1?
They can out whatever arbitrary recommended minimum requirements, but the card is pci powered and can never draw more than 75 Watts. And I'd be surprised if it ever uses more that 50W. The cpu is never gonna be more than 95w in a sff pc. Hard drives and ssd's when fully populated take 10-15W at peak load (spin up of mechanical drives) So that's a total of 185w + memory and motherboard, so it won't go over 200w... Enough power left over to install another expansion card as well.

The real question for me it would be how long the PSU will live and how are those PSU called? Because if mine die then I would have to buy a new PSU but they looks very differe t to the ones I am familiar with.

Isn't this office pc too expensive to upgrade? Like, you spend 250 on this pc at best, and then 80 bucks on a low-end GPU? Don't you want it to be the other way around? I doubt even a 3rd generation intel i5 CPU would be a bottleneck for this system.

imagine a lil bit less then 60 frames in barrely comfortable graphics settings in most tripple a titles. some tripple a's perform flawless though.
I'd be tempted to drill some holes in the PSU case to get some airflow out of that GPU. It's a shame Dell didn't put the x16 slot on the upper side.

I'm not sure, but I have a older optiplex and the 1050ti seemed normal, no difference when I upgraded mobos :/
x4 lane seems to be enough with 1650 or 1050Ti, x8 can handle 2080Ti. so don't worry
x16 has better performance than x4, lots more

If you are opting for the 1650 get the gddr6 version. It's around the same price and performs a little better

Overdosed Gamin You have to install the Nvidia drivers for that specific graphics card.

A put a GTX 1650 LP in a Dell Optiplex 3010 SFF that also has a 240W PSU and it works fine.

I was wondering the same thing. I was under the impression it would not work at all in that slot.
The real question for me it would be how long the PSU will live and how are those PSU called? Because if mine die then I would have to buy a new PSU but they looks very differe t to the ones I am familiar with.

The main use of the computer is for stock trading (so 4 monitors) then I want to be able to use it for some gaming (call of duty and fortnight). A quadro LP p1000 can display 4 MONITORS and you can game on it. Its not as good as the 1050ti but it will do.

Hi, no gtx 1660 will not fit sff case only gtx 1650 low profile or gtx 1050 ti low profile, gt 1030 low profile will fit fine.

Isn't this office pc too expensive to upgrade? Like, you spend 250 on this pc at best, and then 80 bucks on a low-end GPU? Don't you want it to be the other way around? I doubt even a 3rd generation intel i5 CPU would be a bottleneck for this system.

I think that you have to download the graphic cards drivers and the ram is updated automatically in the system, that´s what I know
