What a time for metal, bands like Lorna Shore, Worm Shepherd, Shadow of Intent, Mental Cruelty etc. Are doing a great job forming and pushing the genre forward.
However for me Barbirusa and Defamed have pushed the sound and style years ahead of it's time, I also believe that's why a number of these bands are slept on because most of the community might not be ready for it. I have yet to hear anything by these 2 bands I didn't like or even have a complaint, everything is so damn on point and the sound and mix are absolute perfection. Also I really like how you get emotional listening to this kind of music as it's the same for me, triggering an emotional response is at the core of all music after all and its incredibly rare to find bands that can deliver an emotional response like these bands can.
