"Don't you get into trucking to get recognition, because it's not there." -Guy with over 40,000 views Love your channel. Thanks for letting us ride along!
Thanks for another great video and your wise words regarding the world of trucking. Yes, your are absolutely right Jack. We truckers should never expect recognition. I admire the love you demonstrate for trucking, that's what it counts.
This footage looks to be about two months old. There were still a lot of crops in the fields and the trees were still turning in Indiana. That KW COE was cool.
Meand theMrs I think it was filmed end of October . He mentioned in his last video a new loves that opened in gulf port and that opened on October 20th. So it was filmed around then ,
Having to put up with flat tires dirty trailers and unreported damage is why I bought my own trailer.Your lucky to have a good dispatcher like Todd.I was leased on to Landstar until I retired.I chased my own freight thru their brokerage system.Their system suited me the best.Happy New Year!
Good video Jack, thanks for allowing us to travel with you this past year, we've enjoyed every minute - it's a privilege! Have a Happy and safe new year!
Jack you'r doin a great job ,I enjoy watchin your videos..I was a trucker for 20+yrs.and enjoyed it except for a few dispatcher's like you said,1 in every crowd.
I just happened onto your channel today. As a fellow youtuber, I appreciate your good camera work and excellent video editing. you seem like a real nice fella and you are so right about how a little encouragement goes a long way. I own a small business and my foreman is starting his 31st season with me. I've tried to always treat him with respect and of course I've been rewarded tenfold. please be safe out there, ol' 63
Thanks again Jack for a nice adventure. Enjoyed the ride. Happy New Year Sir, and, wishing you a safe and prosperous New Year. Looking forward to many more of your adventures.
Don't understand how you only have 34k subscribers your videos vlogs are the best love watching them after a day of trucking myself in the uk drive safe 👍
I've enjoyed your channel for quite awhile, Jack. I also enjoy watching the channel of your subscriber, Erik G. He gives you a lot of credit for assisting him with his channel, Trucker Eric Productions. I want to thank you for all of the tutelage you provide him.
Thanks for the last ride along of this year Jack. I hope the New Year will be a great one for you and that you and Old Red travel many more safe miles together. It's a pleasure to ride with you and see all the things you see and to hear the stories you share about whatever is going on at the moment. It brings back memories of long ago when I was doing what you're doing now. Unless you've driven a truck for a living you will never understand how deep it gets into your blood. My hats off to you and all the trucking industry. Without you we would have nothing. Safe travels Jack, as always.
More appreciation in flatbed/specialized if you aren't hauling commodities. Don't plan on it though. Appointments for morning or afternoon (first thing) instead of by the hour are common & nice. Extra pay gets eaten up by more dead head (30% not uncommon) as an O/O. Every deal has good & bad points, Jack's common drop & hook is great for short waits when it works, but you see the issues with bad trailers/finding a trailer that come with it. Reefer wasn't bad for mostly no-touch freight & almost no dead head miles, but you have to learn to care for the Reefer & keep the trailer clean (more wash outs/sweeping) along with lumper payments to handle. Most loads are on a short time schedule so timing is tight, problems can become 'emergencies' fast.
Being an American farmer there is little to no recognition ever but I love my job so I would rather the American soldiers get all the recognition not me. Thanks for sharing another fabulous show take care ☕️🍩🍉cheers.
It is usually a pretty thankless job but I had one dispatcher at Heartland many years ago named Gary Rine that was real good. Never shy with good job or thanks. If I needed something like an extra day off all I had to do was ask, and once my son was in the hospital and he sent a get well basket to his room.
Nice video Jack...like the angle you set the camera at with the insert of you talking...adds realism to the ride along aspects of the trip. Thanks for all you do and stay safe!
Hi Indiana......if you have been into lots of Processed Foot previously, you will feel a lot better doing the Veggies and lightening up on the Carbohydrate!!
ty for another great vid Jack and thank you for your hard work, dedication, safety, efficiency, great spirit & humor. Not only do you help keep the shelves full, the roads safer, its a joy sharing part of your trips with such a nice man.
I remember getting a pat on the back once in a while trucking but you are right in general. I also learned early on that the attitude I received depended greatly on my own. Thanks for all of your hard work/ bringing us along Mr Jack!
Hi jack I live in Mishawaka In my brother lives in Terre Haute he said there is a bad melf labs problem number one drug city in Indiana. Remember safety is number one on the road. I spend a lot days at Mr fuel when I work at Werner my first driving job before I was owner operator now I retired i enjoy your video bye Jack.
How can anyone communicate with a shipper or receiver or boss that matter if you don't speak English? Wow. How does it happen? Any way, great video Jack. Like the KW cabover with the delux oversized sleeper cab. That was an expensive option at the time.
Have a wonderful new year Jack. Loved that old cabover at the end. Did you know Kenworth still build cabovers here for the Australian market I have a friend that knows a truck company owner, and he prefers to buy them because you can add a little bit more pallet space on the trailer? Our trailer size rules are not a liberal as yours in the US
as a 4 wheeler I always feel like I am imposing myself intothe truckers good life when I stop at these places but Mr Fuel is going to see me no matter, yum ! it would be refreshing to see more vegan options for some also as you so aptly showcased once yourself, KEEP ON TRUCKIN
hi my friend I really enjoy your videos keep them coming you inspire me to keep my dream alive to be a trucker and I hate people that say its always the truckers fault no matter if its the trailer being dirty or what ever it is its not are fault so quit putting the blame on us
tom7601 it's a long story but the short version is. Windows 10 did an update which broke my audio drivers. it has been fixed so from now on the audio will be normal. I apologize for this.
So, having been around Cummins engines a little, mostly that little one that Dodge put in their Pickups, but some others, I notice that you seem to keep your engine RPM's pretty low, not pushing it that hard. No criticism really, but I often hear those engines twisted pretty tight, especially with logging trucks up here in Oregon. Do they recommend lower RPM's with large freight trucks?
I am no Cummins expert, but I imagine that the requirements for a dry box on flat roads is a lot easier than for heavy logging trucks going up and down the hills ... such as gear ranges, torque, etc
The power curve on most modern big truck diesels drops off after 1700-1800 rpm. They lug down to 1200 rpm happily. Trucks from the 80's liked to run 1500- to 2100 rpm.
rondogwil There is perhaps not much similarity between freight truck engines and the Cummins engine in the Dodge Pickup then? I believe those engines turned up to 2500+, but they only had a 3 speed+Overdrive transmission so they needed the higher RPMs to get adequate road speed. I drove one 175,000 miles and it seemed to eat water pumps and U-joints due to the high angle of the drive shaft.
Correct. the bigger the eng., the slower they'll turn. My Powerstroke pick up red lines up around 3200-3500rpm. Big rigs red line in the 2100-2500 rpm range.
LOL "small town America", let me tell ya, Terra Haute (or Terrible Haute as we Hoosiers call it) isn't so small of a town for cities in Indiana! It's the mecca of western Indiana. Thanks for another great vid INJACK!
I was a Registered Nurse for 30 years. I can't remember once my boss or colleagues telling me I did a good job. Just like you said, your acknowledgement for work well done must come from within.
hey Jack im subscribed and i like your videos and i watch them so much i forget to "like" them because i see another one of your videos and "click" on it to see what you are doing each day...sorry
"He-didn't-speak-English" how is that possible?!? I'm studying for a CDL, there are dozens upon dozens of questions and answers, videos, multiple choice, etc. I worked at a dairy in the seventies, they had two KW's like that, and two crazy guys that drove them.on the Montreal run.
hey Jack or anyone who knows why truckers lean their antennas forward? is it so they don't bend or does it actually cut down on static or what? HI JACK you do a ggod job!! from Tim in stayton/salem Oregon
For looks i would think, like a charging Bull !, might stop bending of large steel antennas to some degree, but will also reduce antenna gain (Range) as polarization is going from standard Vertical to sloping (or mostly Horizontal).
Just because they want to. They don't bend in the wind noticeably in the first place, so correcting for it means you are a few logs short of a full load. Never knew a single trucker that actually took the time to measure his CB's performance, including me. A lot of opinions but zippo for proof.
The same reason they put sun visors that block half the windshield and let all the air out of the seat and look through the steering wheel. Maybe it's like "loud pipes save lives" leaning antennas make the truck run faster, damn if I know.
You tried to explain to the Driver that he had an air leak problem but, you didn''t think he understood you because he could not speak English. Classic. Welcome to the new America, everyone.

RDR Terre Haute is a rather large little city indeed. Spent many a night there and hauled a lot of freight out of there.
Happy new Year!.
Brocoli crowns dipped in some good Blue Cheese dressing is the bomb,Avacado bacon ranch is good also.
Can truckers get vanity license plates?
at 12:43, what company is that truck that passes Jack? Red over grey KW.
I was a Registered Nurse for 30 years. I can't remember once my boss or colleagues telling me I did a good job. Just like you said, your acknowledgement for work well done must come from within.
Nice Cab over at the end , nice video
Happy New Year Jack. I will see you next year. HaHaHa
the antenna on the mirror mount of that red/white cab-over Kenworth at the end of your video...was that legal?...just looked a little strange to me.
hey Jack im subscribed and i like your videos and i watch them so much i forget to "like" them because i see another one of your videos and "click" on it to see what you are doing each day...sorry

Whenever you turn on your turn signal for some reason, I always hear the word "cookies" "cook-ies" "cook-ies"

Are Tango trucks still doing 90 mph pass the State Troopers in Indiana like in the late 1990's?
John D I was OTR driver for USX for over 3 years before I became a paramedic, Indiana troopers would bust some ass for anything really.
Ty for sharing
If you ever end up getting a new truck what would you go for

TJB so when they drive the antennas are pointed straight up and not leaning back
Just because they want to. They don't bend in the wind noticeably in the first place, so correcting for it means you are a few logs short of a full load. Never knew a single trucker that actually took the time to measure his CB's performance, including me. A lot of opinions but zippo for proof.
