Thanks god you still have your 1997 Rav4. I appreciate so much your RAV4 videos. Still waiting the video of the rear differential supports ;) Thanks a lot Paul.
PRAISE THE LORD FOR THIS COMMENT HAHA. THE '97 RAV FROM PAUL HAS BEEN MY ONLY GO-TO REFERENCE FOR MY '99 RAV. I WAS ABOUT TO HAVE A FAT FIT IF THERE WERE NO MORE '97 RAV VIDS =D
Thanks! Yes, although the new headlights look nicer, the old headlights worked much better. I recommend polishing the headlights and getting LEDs. If you must have the brand new clear lenses, buy Toyota parts.
@@LabCoatPaul Yup. DEPO were a bit more expensive than TYC when I recently changed my headlights, but my original Valeo ones were still better. But new Valeo ones were 3 times more expensive, just not 3 times better. Gotta find the best balance if you're not a frequent night driver
Always enjoy that you're very detailed and you add your pro and cons of your own work. I too will probably go with cleaning the existing headlights and adding the LEDs thank you for sharing
Hey hi Paul, my name is Kevin, I'm from Costa Rica, I hope younare doing fine. Paul, today I bough a rav4 2004 however, I'm facing an issue with the passenger's headlight, specifically with low beam bulb, so I noticed through this video at minute 4:30 you showed it up that bulb. Paul, dp you mind by sharing the part number of that bulb? If can, I really appreciate it.🙏🙏🙏

YES IRS MIRE $..BUT SPEND THE $$ YOUR ALREADY SAVING $ BUY DRIVING A 20 YEAR OLD CAR...BUT WHAT THEY BUILT!
Hey Paul do you have an idea where can I find the headlight bulb reflector, one of mine was broke. Or do u have a spare one? Thanks a lot Paul for your well detailed video.
The replacement is a straightforward process but my RAV4 has DLR on the headlights,(Canadian model) which cause the headlights to flicker rapidly unless they are actually turned on manually. Can anyone address this problem?. The DLR circuit seems to be a mystery and there is virtually no information on it online.
The DRL relay receives a signal from the computer and switches ground to the low beams. The ground comes from the left side fender apron. You need to check the DRL relay. Make sure the terminals aren't corroded. Try swapping the relay with another relay that fits. It's possible the ground is bad. Is your car rusty, or has there been body work done on the left front side? Go to my patreon and download the factory service manual that includes wiring diagrams. No subscription required. Putting led bulbs behind this oxidation headlight will diffuse or disburse the light output like a flood light, and gives an off color temperature like green-ish kind. And it’s no good.
You only get blinded by the wrong type led bulbs. The Auxito - M3 H4 led bulbs that matches the specs as the halogen bulb, will not blind others. That’s a fact. As long as it retains the same beam pattern. That’s good.
Lube it up those plastic push pins was probably the greatest advice I've ever received on the internet
The commentary is pretty fun.
Great video, always love your RAV4 content. Hello from New Zealand

I'll be working on the differential soon. The good news is everything I haven't fixed yet, is still broken and will get a video.

Thanks, Ive been looking for a video of this for my 2002 Rav4 2 door. This was easy to follow and straigt to the point, as always. Thanks a lot!
So a polish + LED bulbs would have been better? :)) great camera work and information as always

Awesome simplicity! Thank you!
Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for as I am about to change my head light units this weekend and this is very informative, thank you.
Nice installation and repair demonstration. 👍
Thanks! 👍
Great video😀
Thank you this was very informative.
Can you do more tutorials on this car please

It's an H4 or 9003 bulb
Did you adjust new lights?
Dude, you are making killer content! Much appreciated!
The oem headlights price wasn't so bad. You would've been happier with the OEM than those TYC aftermarket headlights.
Yup. They say hindsight is 20/20. The new headlights are definitely a bad copy of the Toyota headlights.

What is the best correct way to place them, with the LEDs facing up, down, or left, right?

What happened to the old RAV4?
If you look closely, you'll see it sitting next to the newer RAV4 a couple times in this video.

What are the tire specs on this rav4? 🤔
The stock tire size for a 2002 RAV4 is 215/70R16. This car had 225/60R16 tires on it.
Aiming lights?
Watch the video at 9:24 to see how to adjust the headlights.

Nope! I just did a few repairs on the 2002 RAV4. I still have my 1997 RAV4.
