Dude, thanks a ton. I'd scoured the internet trying to find a decent review and you're the first person to do so. I just purchased one of these from sierra for $70 and I'm pretty excited.
I used a full black version of this backpack for travel last year. I really like it because it was spacious (clothes for one week fit in it), comfortable to carry, and sleek in design. 👌🏼
Great upload. Considering buying but i really dont like the overlap. It looks cumbersome and awkward for packing. The reason i like this bag though, is you could put a15- 28 liter day pack on the bottom and pack ontop of it..this way you have two bags if you need more room and most importantly - your day pack for day to day activities (as this is too big for that). This is super important on 1-3month travelling or work related travel. Thanks for upload
Thanks for your kind words, David! I hope to upload a new video in a month or so, now that I've actually spent time with the bag. So if you aren't super time-pressed, subscribe so you get notified when I post that! The overlap has taken some getting used to, but after a lot of use, I only really notice it when zipping when really stuffed. The rest of the time it's not bad. The longest airline-based trip I've packed for was 10 days and I was able to very easily pack my Salomon Active Skin 8 along with my clothes and shoes. I did also carry on my fjallraven kanken as a personal item on that trip as well with items I'd want to access quickly - kindle, headphones, long sleeve shirt - and my toiletries. I've found if I'm needing to quickly grab small things from the Aviant, opening a side all the way allows quite a bit of access.
This was helpful. Thanks. I’m a little concerned about packing in the main compartment since the opening is smaller than the compartment. But I’m really attracted by the internal and external compression straps, which aren’t very common on travel backpacks.
So far for smaller loads I’ve packed so far, the biggest consideration is what I mentioned in the video - packing the upper part. Other than that I haven’t had any issues with the opening being smaller. Still have yet to do more than a single nights worth of packing yet though. Unfortunately no longer trips planned until late March-early April.
I like the minimalist style of this bag. I'm just not sure if I need another one coz I have tons of backpacks already. But then again, can one really have enough backpacks?! LOL. By the way, is your toiletry bag from United? I'm asking coz I got one of those!
The amount of bags you need is n+1 where n is the number of bags you have! … or n-1 where n is the number of bags before your significant other hates you. Hahaha If I had all the money I would spend it all on bags and jackets.

I found a deal but not that good of one! Glad I could help. Here’s to great adventures! 🍻

After a couple of overnight trips I'm feeling the same way! Looking forward to a longer trip at the end of the month.

And yeah, the dual compression internally and externally has been really nice! Especially for the smaller loads I’ve packed so far.
Thanks Jordan! :)
You bet Diego! Hoping to record a new review/thoughts soon since I've got a lot of use out of it in the last 10 months!

is there a luggage handle pass through?
Negative. There is not a dedicated luggage pass through.
Thanks!
You bet! Happy traveling!
How much do these cost?
Around $160 direct from Deuter. I got mine for about $120 on Amazon.
