- Hiking alone through the Velka Fatra mountains in Slovakia. My favorite place to hike in Slovakia, beautiful sceneries of grasslands and mountains and its not crowded at all, i loved it here. I started in the city of Ruzomberok from which I followed the ridge through the mountains like Šiprun, Rakytov, Ploska, the highest point of the trek peak Ostredok(1592m) followed by Krizna and Majerova skala and I ended up my trek in the village called Stare Hory. This is my 2 day hiking journey through this mountain range without commentary just pure nature sounds. Enjoy!

Krása. Minulý týden jsem bral část Velké Fatry v rámci asi 160km treku a koukám, že ji budu muset dát celou. :-) Jak někdo dole zmiňuje, není to nepodobné Kraigu Adamsovi, dobrá práce!
Velka fatra sa oplati prejst cela, urcite chod, su to moje najoblubenejsie hory na sk :)

It also insipred me to do this with my girlfriend. Do you mind sharing more information about the trip? Like what is exactly the route? I checked the map on :mapy.hiking.sk/ website but I am not sure. Where did you sleep? Are there a list of mountain huts, shelters on the way? Thanks in advance.

Ok so since you are using hiking.sk here is the exact trail i took i made it for you: mapy.hiking.sk/?hpid=MGbam
I slept at Salas pod suchym, you can find it on the map at hiking.sk, its there along the trail. This is very nice bivouac as you can see on the video but you also can sleep at the cottage Chata pod borisovom, but i recommend to call there for reservation as it is cottage where you pay for the accommodation.
Also you can sleep at Utulna Limba, also on the map, its under Rakytov mountain.

@@lukaslans Thank you for your quick answer. I just created the exact same route by the video, haha. I will add waypoints for the water sources and the huts just in case. I saw you ended up in the hut after it got dark. When did you do this trip, spring? And how long did it take you to the shelter? I dont want to cover much distance in the first day, because I dont want to rush through it. Also my GF might be too tired after the first day. I checked ther shelters around ~20km and Utulna Limba seems nice for us. Do you recommend this trip during the summer or it will be fine dorung Autumn or Spring?
heheh nice :) i did this trip at the end on may this year. to the shelter from ruzomberok its gonna take you whole day. utulna limba is nice, there lives one guy, you can reserve accommodation too there just check the website, or just go there, there is almost always some free bed, utulna limba works on a principle you pay for the accommodation how much you want, or you dont have to, its voluntary. You can do velka fatra anytime of the year its always beutiful and good to hike :)
@@lukaslans After almost a year later I am still glad that I did this trip. We are going to Malá Fatra this year. Hopefully sleeping in Chata pod Chlebom if they finish the reconstruction. If not we are sleeping in a tent next to it. I hope it will be as good as last years trip was. If you have any tips, please share with us.
Super glad. So good you are going back to mala fatra, its also beautiful. i can just recommend doing the whole ridge, and also dolina obsivanka, is beautiful. Mala fatra is more crowded than velka fatra, maybe you get stuck on the ladders but still good, wish you luck :)
