Storm Ciara, New Brighton, Wirral

Video of Storm Ciara battering New Brighton's coast. Forth perch rock, the marine lake, and the coastal promenade all took the force of the high winds. The Pirate ship Black Pearl also stood her ground under the high wind and water. Video is from different angles around the area, and put together.

It's a great place to visit during a storm or strong winds, shame the Black Pearl has been destroyed, or so I've heard, 👍

Wow all that wind and the turbines hardly moving,are they even worth being there at all

Oh that's such a funny thing to do lock a wind turbine when its windy,lol

Thanks,never crossed my mind that they were managed in this way,so now I know why I have never witnessed any going round full pelt,always thought they would be better off if they were tiny then they could go around quicker,this design we have not great,good footage of waves,(scary).

The blades on the turbines are adjustable so in high winds they still turn at the correct speed also they are switched out of use when demand is low.
