The Last Emperor is one of 3 of my favorite films. The musical instrument that she plays -- the erhu -- is in itself brimming with spiritual allusions. The 'hu' is another name for God or Spirit. In the Chinese [Mandarin, Cantonese], Greek, Hebrew, and Sanskrit languages are sequestered many ancient references to the God worlds. There they set in repose.
