  • Schnebly Hill Road is an old wagon route that runs from Flagstaff AZ to Sedona. It is about 12 miles long 10 of which is very rocky with some epic views as you descend into Sedona coming from Flagstaff. It is also a Jeep Badge of Honor trail.

      Thanks for watching and for the comments. The trail was definitely bumpy but to be honest it was harder on us than it was on the Mojave. It could have handled a lot more.

    Enjoyed the virtual ride. Your stock gobi color Mojave looks great! Q: Did your Body-Color Fender Flares get scuffed by overhanging brush during your tours thus far?

      Thanks Scott!, I got a few AZ pinstripes on the side of the vehicle I didn't notice any on the fenders. They came out easy with a wax wash. I wash and wax my Mojave with the ceramic wax which really helps. I'm thinking of having it Ceramic coated which would eliminate those completely. Thanks for watching and for commenting! Take care

      I’ll have to check out Schnebly Hill road myself. Visited Prescott with wife and dog in 2014, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
      I’m surprised to hear you say no scratches on your flares. Perhaps their angle keeps them from direct impact. I really like the look of the body color flares, so I would opt for these if I decide to get one. I have been waiting for the Bronco release (much delayed 🙄) to compare with the Glad Mojave. I know which one you prefer, though! Thanks for the reply and keep truckin.’

      @@WESTYWALKR It's worth doing once and if you own a Jeep and download the "Jeep badge of honor app" for your phone you can earn a badge for doing that trail. I'm not sure I would do it twice, its very scenic, has some high drop shelf road areas and is very bumpy. Being honest it wore me out after a while. I guess that's why it's worth a badge! I have only seen videos on the Bronco and have not seen one up close so I can't really say anything bad or good about it. I prefer to give my opinion based on my experience other people may have completely different experience with the same vehicle.

      @@MojaveTrails In choosing a 4WD vehicle, I guess we’re all looking for the “right” balance of features. So far, I am really impressed with the Jeep brand, and the Mohave, in particular.
      Thanks again for your advice and content! 🙏🏽

      @@WESTYWALKR I wrote-off the Ford Broncos because (1) they were never out on the street in time (and STILL not out yet?) -- Ford taking WAY too long to build/deliver them) and (2) Broncos can only tow 3500lbs -- same as the Jeep Wrangler (so IT was out, too). Sometimes I need to tow a trailer (on the highway not OFF-road!) and the anemic 3500lbs doesn't cut it AT ALL.
      So I went with a 2021 Gladiator Rubicon (can tow 7,000lbs)...
      I waited (with no end in sight) for my original choice -- a 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 (5000lbs towing-capacity) -- for just over 2 months, but there was STILL "no ETA date available" from GM on it by mid-April (2021), so I bailed on the ZR2. As of this date, "my" ZR2 is STILL (apparently) parked at the GM factory in Wentzville, MO, due to GM's "semi-conductor/chip-shortage" with 20K+ other Colorados there. "No one" at GM knows when they'll be "finished" (get their chips) and shipped to dealers/customers.
      IMO, I waited long enough, and two days after I got my ZR2 deposit back, I had my Gladiator (PLENTY of them on local Jeep dealership lots).
      While the ZR2 does some things better than the Gladiator, the Gladiator does some thing better than the ZR2 -- there are always trade-offs, and ones you can accept and ones that are deal-breakers.
      Regardless, I'm still quite happy with my "2nd choice" Gladiator. :-)

    Absolutely love your trail videos!!! Do you use 4H or 4L on any of the trails? Its difficult to tell the speed from the videos, but what speed do you feel comfortable on these trails?

    • @MojaveTrails
      @MojaveTrails  3 роки тому +4

      Hi John, thanks for your kind words. I use 4 HI as much as possible only switching into 4 Lo when needed mostly to climb over obstacles or to crawl at lower speeds or to enable the locker. In this video I was in 4HI up until the drone area from there on the trail was very rocky and you had to take it slow. The Mojave could have handled the trail faster but I couldn't I'm too old to be bouncing around anymore.

    How was the drive from WI? How much weight do you think you had in the cab/bed? I'm considering the Mojave as the basis for an overlanding rig.

    • @MojaveTrails
      @MojaveTrails  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Mark, The Mojave is an excellent choice for overlanding and in my OP the best vehicle you can start with especially if you want to keep it stock. You can run 35 tires on it without changing anything. I have even found some matching Falken MTs that fit the rims it comes with. If you want to add 37 tires you can still lift it I recommend watching Epic Adventure Outfitters they have a video on putting in a lift on the Mojave to run 37. Best part is you have the best suspension money can buy with the Fox 2.5 bypass with reservoir shocks so the lift is cheap as far as lifts go. If your going to do a lot of overlanding and plan on doing some water fording then order it with the snorkle it is currently the only way you can get one. There is no after market snorkle for the mojave not even from mopar but you can order it with a snorkle from the factory I think you can even get it matching the paint. I did not know this when I bought mine so i'm stuck at the moment until/if they develop an after market one. It handled the mountains through Colorado, Utah & AZ just fine. I had about 800 lbs with the passengers and gear and it did not feel heavy or off at all. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
