-Rustdesk direct connect works perfectly from Android to Windows using Tailscale. - Rustdesk direct connect from Windows to an Android phone does not work via Tailscale or LAN, even with input enabled in Accessibility. We have two S24 Ultras with Android 14 and it doesn't work on either. - I installed Phone Link on one of them and that works perfectly when enabled in Accessibility. Phone Link uses the LAN, which is fine for home, but with secure public hotspots, you have no LAN unless you cobble.
Yeah I have had some issues with rustdesk recently when on a road trip that I couldn't isolate I wonder if there is a bug or something. That was on laptop to desktop.
Thanks for the awesome video. One question. Is it possible to connect local PC to remote PC which is connected to the PLC via phscical adapter. I was able to connect both PCs with VPN, and I made a route betwen VPN IP and PLC IP, but it didn't work. This is possible with TW, but now the VPN feature is not free anymore on TW. . I tried similar with Tailscale, but I was unable to reach PLC. route add mask 255.255.255.0 metric 1
Can someone explain why Id use this instead of just a basic remote sharing app like AnyDesk / TeamViewer? Seems completely convoluted for no actual benefit (in this use case of connecting to computer from another location)
I was hoping for that 'future video' showing how to run our own Rustdesk server. That would be awesome. Please consider it!
thanks for making this video, i knew about tailscale, but ruskdesk was a nice surprise!
Wow, very interesting!
Okay do this whole video again but slower!

What exactly is the PLC you are trying to connect to?

Totally free for whatever use you would imagine. Personal or commercial. No 3rd party monitoring of sessions if you admin it yourself.
I decided to answer this question in a new post for all to benefit.
is there anything i have to configure in my home PCs firewall settings to allow access from an outside network? I can t get it to work
There are potentially a few things. What's you complete network WAN (ISP) to Router setup? If you have double NAT, it may be hard indeed.
@@DigitalSpaceport I am dealing with a double NAT
Interesting....
Putting a full node on a server seems like an interesting experiment
