- On an early summer morning on Delray beach, Dude Purtic and I as well as our friend Alex ventured out to try and get a beach permit. Frozen crabs on our lines, it did not take long for us to get tight! However the fish that we hooked would give us more of a run for our money than we anticipated. What fish that would eat a speckled "calico" crab in 6' of water on Delray Beach would dump 30o0 yards of 50 pound test line??? Watch this video to find out what we hooked into!

My in laws live near DLB and my brother in law and I love fishing that very same spot (I’m a Hawaiian transplant to FL).
I ran into Eric and his white van one evening a few months ago while I was commencing a bait catching evening, and he was concluding a solo trip.

Seems very few target beach permit down here. You guys put the time in and have had some epic permit videos....thank you for that! Keep it up....always a good time in between the epic moments.
Been pier fishing in Broward for 12 years and never seen an adult permit come over the rail...rarely see anyone targeting them. Have caught many baby permit on pomp jigs during pomp seasons, but those don't really count.
