How to Use the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

- The available LKAS is engineered to gently correct your steering when you begin to leave a detected lane without signalling, applying torque progressively to the steering to help guide you back to the centre of the lane.
This is good for people who text and drive. But for people that actually pay attention to their driving it’s just annoying
Yeah, I never turn it on. SO annoying....
also good for ppl who like me fall asleep behind the wheel
I have mixed feelings about this system. Very finicky! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I gave up on it and I'm just driving without it now.
EDIT: I love my car and I'm very happy with it, but the LKAS and ACC systems are not that great. For the longest time I couldn't even figure out how to turn it on, since the manual says that if the LKAS light is on then it means that there's a problem with it. Sometimes LKAS works even if it's not been enabled.
Can you just use LKAS by its self? Without useing ACC
@@GodFirst701 You can, but ACC is so nice to have. You can just take your feet off the pedals and let the car accelerate and slow down depending on the speed limit.
Honda becoming less reliable Honda Dealership changed my battery now i have no Cruise control, No Lane assist, and no Brake assistance
@@BORICUACHANNEL I think it's a question of them trying to cram all of this useless electronics and software in their newest models. Just make a good car, who cares about lane assist and other garbage.
@@dannybodros5180it speeds up and slows down depending on vehicles in front of you, not the speed limit
Avoid the confusion & rename the LKAS to "steering assist" Honda.
I just bought a new Honda and I really don’t like this. I have LKAS off but it still shakes the wheel if I get close to a line. We have some bad roads where I live so this becomes more of a danger than a useful feature. 1st day driving it nudged me into oncoming traffic. How do I completely disable the “motor type features” in the wheel?
Thank you for your information
My LKAS light is orange and does not want to turn off. what do I do? Can I fix it from home?

@@jaeq446 I have mercedes amg
That's what I was trying to figure out as well! The manual says that if the LKAS light is on it means there's a problem with it.
I push the MAIN button on the steering wheel and then activate LKAS and ACC via the buttons near the knee, but these systems don't work consistently.
poor man's equivalant to the tesla self driving lol
How do you disable it completely???
First thing I did was turn this thing off! 😂
This system is very weak and very disappointing compared to the competitors

Honda tech sucks. Cheap cars shouldn't get fancy things. I hate it.
Honda cars are fine, but the LKAS and ACC systems they use are not up to par.
