  • “I refuse to allow any party affiliation to stop me from being what I’m going to be when I leave and what I was before I came.” Republican Senator Tim Scott, author of “America, A Redemption Story,” discusses not sidestepping the issue of race for his party, where he places blame for January 6th, and helping his grandfather vote for Barack Obama. #DailyShow #Comedy

Sen. Scott's father was a veteran & needed medical assistance.

His voting record is all you need to know about this man. He's got so much to say about being black and witnessing the struggles of black people but can never bring himself to vote for things that protect and help us. At the end of the day that's literally all that matters.

Isn't his party, the party making education worse by banning books, and other things that educate?

The rhetoric of a coward. He listens and rolls over, because he holds none of his partymates accoutable.

It's interesting that Tim Scott said "I don't side-step the issue of race at all" as a side-step to Trevor Noah's question about race in the GOP.

"Woke supremacy is worse than white supremacy" - Tim Scott, who also didn't vote for Ketanji Brown Jackson

When he "pivoted" to dodge whether he'd run as Trump's VP, that said all I needed to know.

This man really just wasted everyone’s time dodging all those questions.

Tim Scott talking about if he were President, he'd focus on education is rich considering his party prefers their constituents to be as uneducated and uninformed as possible.

I thought when he mentioned that black folks are conservative he would've elaborated on that. Instead Rep. Scott started on the republican record from 2016-2020. I was giving the brother the benefit of doubt but the politician came out.

This Tim Scott person is the embodiment of the person who removes the rungs from the ladder after he has climbed it.

Tim Scott is stumbling and bumbling his way through a soul redemption tour disguise as a book tour. But you have to have a soul to redeem. He sold his soul long before he became a republican.

I was in the audience. He was not well-received. The story about helping his grandfather vote fell quite flat, given that he is a cog in a machine currently trying to make it nearly impossible for certain people to vote.

I don’t know how he lives with himself, his job is literally to vote against interest of the people that look like him. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Let him go on Roland Martin's show and tell those lies so he can present the FACTS, especially about the HBCU.

Trevor is the best political interviewer. No question. Entertaining, funny, but actually reads the material, poses thought provoking questions (the "what would you do different as president" was perfect), and has his beliefs, but listens to his guest, regardless of party. Will always listen to his work

Trevor could have easily have mopped the floor with him but he went with the having a conversation approach with the odd jab above the belt. I appreciate this.

He lost me when he took to long to answer the first question… yeah black people are conservative… but the Conservative party is fascist….
