Lol definitely just Rick things. Like when he sprays one 60 yards right out of bounds and goes “ughhh drivuhhhhh”. But yeah just Rick. Then he proceeds to closely miss 3 putts from 20 feet and goes “not in love” lol
Wanted something different from my Scotty C. Newport blade. Saw these, went up to my Club Champion store. Instant love, holed my first 4 attempts and ordered on the spot. Can’t wait for the delivery.
They had something going with the Vice balls competing with Kirkland as a cheap but quality product, but they've gone the opposite direction with their clubs.
Could you do a comparison between Wilson infinite putter(129.99) line and Wilson staff (349.99) line to show if money really does make a difference on brand name putters
100% agree. But the question is more along the line that Wilson has an infinite line and a staff line that are exactly the same other then looks. With over a $200 difference it would be interesting to see what the felt comparison would be other then they look different
dude this has been talked about for decades now. the material you're using to hit the ball 4 ft is not going to matter or make you magically aim better. like just go practice putting lol
Totally agree regarding personalisation. I play TaylorMade and you can buy custom wedges, drivers and putters, but it adds quite a bit extra when it’s all added together
As a fan of your videos and someone who wants to get into golf, I think if you could putt better your scores would improve 1000%, can you do more videos on putt alignment and reading greens please
topography was the word you were looking for. very similar to topology, but definitely have different meanings. topography maps are maps like the greens have that you were mentioning it reminded you of.
Just like their balls, they went from above average quality at a great price to overpriced hype with "customization" (as if choosing a few colors is customizing a club) to just overpriced. 400 for a vice mallet??? You're off your guttenburgen rocker.
I reckon loads of the DTC will do that Takomo will be next So many UA-cam ers using them now it won't be long before they're just under the premium price point Quite clearly it's a strategy to break into a already congested marketplace with way too many releases of new gear already
@@chrissellings the difference is vice was releasing their clubs at a premium price point. The proper DTC club makers are still well below premium pricing and they have been in the UA-cam scene for almost a decade now. Vice is a joke for their price point with the clubs they released

They took it different and it still feels great. My only issue. With the shallow angle and boxy design it's really hard to pick up balls with your putter.
It's funny how you said, "If you box all three, it's going in the bag." You just got the PING fitted for a handsome sum and really seems to work for you. Keep the PING.
After he got the PING fitting, the putter rusted in the rain, so he returned it. Also, he’s a tour professional and golf club reviewer, so it’s essential to have a lot of clubs. He obviously has the money, judging by the custom built simulator he makes videos in.
Been rocking the blades for about a month and a half. It does visually take a minute but I like the feel. The sound and the roll. I like the weight as well, u never made a note of that. I feel like it’s quite weighty for a blade. Great video tho
Agreed. Ive been saying the same thing for years. All he has to say is its his personal preference and someone else might love the look but he always makes it sound like because he doesn't like the look, it's a terrible club.
@victorchen8484 I'm not saying looks isn't important but it's super subjective. What i think is good is different than what someone else thinks is good. That's been my issue with Rick. He kind of acts as if his opinion trumps all on looks. I love everything else he has to say about performance but he has looks have too much weight even though it's so objective.
@@victorchen8484 if I told you there was a putter where you could hole 30% more putts, would you care what it looks like? Obviously there’s no such thing, but some putters outperform others. Huh???? 7:05 they are calling the 01 a blade? It's double the size of a blade....the 01 should at least be called 1/2 mallet or mini mallet or something like that.
The personalization options are a nice touch. I feel these are aimed at a younger crowd, but at 51 myself, I am intrigued by the mallet. What does it say about golf equipment prices these days when my first reaction to you stating the mallet was $320 was “oh, that’s not bad” 😂
Rick how come it's so hard to find putters that are more customisable? They're all 33/34 or 35" shafts. It's so rare to find something longer even if you're ordering direct from the supplier. I found one in a shop yesterday at 40" but it's arm lock so massive grip but I did notice though that Vice do up to 36". It makes a difference to us big fellas!!
Mad really, considering great putters like the Cleveland HB series are often found for 100 quid, that brands of varying stature bring out new stuff at these price points. Understand brands like scotty getting away with charging money for effectively heritage, but newer brands coming in at over 300 quid, dont Understand it at all. Imagine how many of these theyd sell at 150 instead
I think i would of rather seen less customization so that they could lower the price. The price has to be higher as they have to build custom colors but it would be nice to see a slightly lower priced base color package
If all of these putters came in a price from $125-$250, I think they would find their demographic. $400, way too expensive! Sadding they have come into the price inflated market as the other “major” brands. Maybe Ill pick one up 2nd hand next yr for $100.
I think the color options make their club heads look cheap. As for the grip, with the colors it just looks like an advertising tool. I am not opposed to specific colors for a brand, like Milwaukee tools being red and DeWalt being yellow, but a dozen different colors like Sccy Firearms I associate with cheap.
It's topography, not topology that the contours represent. Topology is the spatial relationship of two or more objects to each another, topography is the relief of a landmass.
Pity you are sharing your personal tastes while trying the VGP01. I have 2 VGP01 (1 with 120 gr shaft and 1 with 140 gr). The roll, the alignment ease and the overall quality take this putter right there with the like of Bettinardi, Scottie Cameron, Ping PLD and Lab Golf. Focus on the putter more than on what fits your eye or not. 😍😍😍
No I think you’ve got it bang on about the blade putter. It just looks wrong. It’s neither one thing or the other. It’s like they designed the mallet and then just chopped the tail off. Mallet looks great. P.S. Not sure you really explained the HIO angle and how they’ve been designed using data.
I don't like calling that a mallet style. It's a fang style with barely enough material to make it look (not perform) like a mallet. On longer putts that are more likely to miss the center, that miss will be exaggerated. Fang style putters suck
Just personal taste but mallet putters in general do nothing for me - feels too much club behind the ball lol. Always a blade!!£400 for a putter? Got to be mental.😂

so, am not a fan of any putter with any alphabet identifier in the center clubface. the groves, i think, can cause the ball to roll off your target line. so nobody can get full use of these putter heads. it's either toe or heel. 33.3% is useless. how about giving the buyers a 33.3% discount on the cost, even when on sale. i call this a design failure. it's ok where some have 2 painted balls. but never on the putter surface that makes contact with the ball.
I personally don't think any of their clubs except the blades look good. I actually think they look awful, I hate the topology graphics specially. Too flashy for, so I wouldn't play vice clubs even if they gave it to me.
