- Everyday its a brand new episode of The Price is Right and today's episode is the first episode of Drew Carey's Million Dollar Spectacular and also the first time ever in Price is Right history somebody won a million I do not own this episode Fremantle Media does and credit goes to thewhammy83

I remember that night that was a very great night. That was a very great happy ending when he won!!
I was the only one watching, since my family went to a school event that night, and who could possibly forget him? God bless that man!

Giveaways like this likely caused CBS to pull the plug on the MDS... by the time Price returned to primetime, they were no more than daytime shows with a slightly higher budget.

I know. I miss it so much. We have Big Money Week nowadays, but it's not the same. And NOW, for the premiere week of S50, we had a week where 1 contestant, each show, got to play a game for $1,000,000. Kinda like bringing back the MDS officially, but in daytime. Sadly, it was a bust. Only one person won anything respectable, Robert on Monday's show won $100,000 in $1M Pay The Rent.
Did you guys know that Drew had 3 Million Dollar Winners when he hosted the MDS’s in his 1st season? Crazy to think that TPIR, CBS and Fremantle Media was giving away that match cash while the economy was where it was at at the time.
These specials were commissioned to fill schedule space while the 2008 writers' strike was going on
