Michael, after reacting to all the documentaries by Ohrenje about all the Maids, you will come to realize that there is one word to describe the formation of Band-Maid: serendipity. The stars were definitely aligned when these five wonderfully talented women came together and were able to create such wonderful music.
Great move on doing the documentaries. The insights...just make them even more special than you already thought they were. It's also amazing to discover how each of them are a perfect piece to the puzzle masterpiece called Band-Maid. Kanami is next!!! The genius... Can't wait. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
Michael, it is amazing the job Ohrenje-san and those others involved have done to create what you will see is a first class docuseries. Make sure to give props to them. Lots of blood, sweat, and tears by them for Band-Maid.
Thanks for taking the time to react to Saiki's documentary, it gives a great insight into who Saiki is. As someone who is very shy, I've struggled in social situation and finally found a why to overcome that, adopt a persona, like an actor becoming the person in a play. I had to do this as my job changed and I had to start giving presentations and I really had a hard time, but by becoming someone else I was able to overcome my fears of standing in front of a group of strangers. I have a hunch that Saiki is playing the role of rock star front singer. If you watch some of the latest MV, when the camera is focused on Saiki, she doesn't really look directly at the camera for more than a few seconds, that's what a shy person does.
These documentaries help you understand the band’s personalities! Thank to Ohrenje it gives you a connection with the band and you see it’s all about the music and having “Enjoy Time”. Saiki is now in her prime with the band and her input is key! 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
Your reaction reminded me of Forbidden Tale. She must have snuck in some self-expose in the lyrics. BTW Steve Perry shares the same star sign with Saiki.😊
Having Miku beside her early on doing the heavy lifting as the face and voice of the band in interviews and MC's allowed Saiki to grow into the role. As you go through the rest you will see that it had to be these five and only these five. Lose or change one and it might still be a good band but it wouldn't be Band-Maid.
thanks for checking out the newer docs. O-san and I willing be recording Akane and Misa's revamp very soon. Make sure you check out Kanami's to learn some more crazy about our favourite maids.
Indeed, that's exactly how it was meant to be..... To my shame, I have to admit that in the first few days after I found Band-Maid and soaked up their discography like a sponge, Saiki wasn't really directly on my radar. 🙈 It was probably because I didn't understand the meaning of her words at the time and my ears were more fascinated by the instrumental side... If I remember correctly, it was exactly this performance that we got here in the end, the acoustic version of 'Puzzle', in which this really beautiful person struck me like a bolt of lightning and had me in tears without even understanding a single freakin' word she sang. Are there better vocalists out there? Of course, without question. But in that moment, Saiki became absolutely irreplaceable for me in this band with her voice and her enormous presence, which has indeed multiplied since the pandemic. And since that moment, for me Band-Maid consisted of 5 equally strong pillars, whose overall construct will most likely collapse if just one of them were to break away.... Saiki is a truly talented, admirable and, as you will see, like any of these ladies, inspiring young woman who is rightfully known as 'The Queen' (the suffix 'ice-' no longer fits her these days imo). ❤🔥🤘🏻 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. MIKU is the boss. Her idea - her band. MIKU checking out SAIKI before SAIKI knew who she was. That said, I still love what MIKU says in this interview (part 2 below) when the Host of the show says - Since all five girls are cute, each of them has a different character. Those who want to see idols perform can also enjoy (each character individually). MIKU: NO! Not just for one of them, all of them together! Japanese Interviewer: Kuruppo, you are a pretty good tactician. Clever! You thought of it. You really formed the band you wanted, right? MIKU: It's a Miracle! SAIKI: That's right! Part 1 - ua-cam.com/video/R4PofsQYwn4/v-deo.html Part 2 - ua-cam.com/video/YzWETTu-4iE/v-deo.html SAIKI sings and plays piano solo CHOOSE ME - Piano version - ua-cam.com/video/1z7BVaavLu4/v-deo.html&start_radio=1
I'm looking forward to seeing more reactions to these mini documentaries from Ohrenje. I think his team did a great job on them. 2016 was a particularly rough year for Saiki, the band performed 101 concerts in 9 different countries that year, so her voice was pretty wrecked by then. In some interviews in 2016 and 2017 you could really tell that it hurt her to speak, much less sing. Please take care and have an awesome week.
Saiki played the piano and sang for the first time at a show recently. In the very early to days of the band, Akane was the organiser and kept the younger members, Misa and Saiki, in order ie. turning up on time for rehearsals, as Kanami used to get upset when they were late. Misa and Akane are great buddies and go to shows together etc. The other couple are Miku and Saiki. Miku used to be too loud for Saiki, but now they accommodate each other and do a lot of the promotion work together. That leaves the ever busy Kanami who is always composing new music. Her crush for Saiki was very evident in the early years, particularly on stage, but not so much lately- there is plenty of film evidence of this from shows, which is so cute.
Technically Saiki began to break out of her shell abroad. She was involved in mcs in japan. When they played abroad it was always left to Miku to do all the mcs. Everyone has stepped up post covid US okyujis 😂
Fun fact: Saiki was overworked by the agency. Band-Maid played 300 ish shows from 2014-2017. And she was far from being ready for that work load. I'm surprised she survived.
Now, it's difficult to take your eyes off her when seeing them perform. Saiki-san is that charismatic.

Saiki Sai-chan Atsume!
KODA KUMI is my Pop Diva. NAMIE AMURO is merely a younger copy KUMI-CHAN.
Did you notice at their 1st performance Miku doesn't have a guitar?
And Akane doesn’t have a banana. Go figure!
Hmmm. Yeah you're right.
Are you going to watch all 3 videos on Miku at once?
Probably not.
