This was completely beyond human performance by Infi. Ofcourse Happy played great. Insane Micro. Autocasting his Statue heal and mana at the same time all the time and rarely missing a beat, even in tight fights, thats really sick control skills.
But what Infi did here, i dont think anyone ever did before. Not even himself. This was probably the highest skill performance ive seen in 16 years of WC3...
I've seen those kind of macro games from infi before. But it doesn't happen often.
Th000 did some sick macro games against undead in the past too. But I agree, this probably is the most impressive demonstration.
You're so right. So many people tend to think that it is an already seen tank strategy which is not. Happy himself was surprised by that new strat implemented by Infi. Despite the fact I watched plenty of games over the years, I never seen that "blend" before and I've been amazed by Infi's efforts for preparing this game. Means that pro players are still exploring game's possibilities which is awesome. Great display of professionalism right there. Nonetheless, Happy is a very smart and skilled player so I bet he's already studied the replays for finding out a proper counter to it

Happy is certainly unhappy about this. 2-0.. But infi did pull this off in such a fashion that i think no human players around the globe could ever match. All-rounded performance by infi. Perfect excecution. Frm decision making, well-timed split attacks, expansion, defense in the early stage, managing resources-buildings-units.. U name it, he got it.. Remind u, its against happy.. Top 3 best undead in the world. I really enjoy this 3-0 win coz often times we see human always get bullied by undead in almost every match up. Such a relief. Ggwp infi!
infi multitasking is insane!
I remember back when Infi just started to pop up, people thought of him as a tower abuser because he literally towered the whole map and expoes :D but he's crazy good and strategic. You can clearly see that it takes vast amount of time and preperation to do these kinds of plays against a world class player, impressive! I'm sure if anyone, there's going to be Happy finding a solution to this type of plays.
Regardless of effective strategies or not, the game has always had different kind of metas and we'll just see what the future brings if Blizzard decides to make this game a widely popular e-sports (outside Asia) game again :)
ya, i remember at that period , people are impressed by sky tower rush strategy, but not amused n feeling sneaky ,dirty play by infi tower mass expension. but i think thats the most clever thing have done by infi , because he knew how to maximize the human advantages n increase the winning rates, ignored all the unneccesary blame. thats the sensible decision for a pro players to make in their career:exploring n maximizing all the advantages, elements in the game to win the game.
seriously. what the hell. how the heck do they also micro multiple battles at the same time. like tank drop, archmage in the UD base, MK + Pally with another force defending the expo... my brain can't make sense of it, purely for the amount of pulling units out, casting spells etc required simultaneously to avoid losing heroes and units...

I'd like to see a video over shoulder. I know you can download replays, but I want to see their screen, how they switch between 2 battles and the base / economy so efficiently
lol this is the TRUE world of warcraft you rpg gamers have yet to put you micro-managing hands on this and quite personally giving up playing has given back 1000's of hours in life

It's like high level chess or something, both players know the likely avenues the game is going to take, and the places they can push to get small advantages and the odds of that. Etc. Skill level has to be very high to even play the game at the edges like that.

@@skvision7510 Lol, what infi did in this series may be the best esports performance I have ever seen (easily in the top 3) and I have been watching for about 15 years.... Absolutely incredible, almost miraculous play, I am stunned by the level of skill of infi. I still can't believe what I saw....
@@skvision7510 By the way, this matchup is heavily favored for undead, moreso than any other matchup in warcraft 3, statistically speaking, which makes this match even more impressive vs any other esports game....
In starcraft broodwar, each race is literally balanced to 33.32%, 33.33%, 33.34% winrate against every other. Not so in warcraft 3. Undead vs human is the most unbalanced matchup in the game, by about 11-16% favoring undead depending on what level you're at. Not cool that blizzard won't fix this, but cool that infi won even with these poor odds.......

Infi's strategy in those games is so hard to execute... Requires an insane macro skill. Can't believe he did that perfectly three times in a row. Pretty sure Infi's brain was done after such an intense performance. Happy played well though
I know! He has to like click on a tank and then click again to tell it where to go. Unbelievable skill!

These three games are wonderful, and not as one-sided as the 3:0 score showed.
In the after-game analysis by Infi and Th000, both of them agreed that around 8:40-9:20 in the first game, Happy shouldn't have waited for the Pit Lord but should directly threaten Infi's expo, at which point the expo would be particularly vulnerable and also there would be no chance for Infi to counter-harass Happy's base. (And Infi thought he was slightly disadvantageous after the battle at 23:00, but played wonderfully in the decisive battle at 26:00.)
They also agreed that Happy made similar mistake around 43:30-44:00 in the second game.
In the last game Infi said he was almost losing at 1:04:58. Even towards the end he would have been in danger if the last invasion didn't work out, for Happy had done a great job in preventing him from having the next expo, and he was about to run out of gold.

The thing about Infi and Th000 is not just are they the two best human players. But close friends. You beat one of them, the other will know your weakness. Beating both of them is next to impossible.
You are right, when one of them analyzes why he lost, the other comes and annihilates him, although TH000 saw him lazy in this tournament.

infi played Sc2 as a pro for two years when w3 was losing its popularity around 2015. i guess thats when he developed his insane multiline skills
I wonder if happy could make 4-5 extra frenzy ghouls and just patrol for tanks so he can start damaging then early. If he cut 3 fiends for those i don't know if he has enough pressure for the expo

Damn, Infi is just insane. Completely out-macro'ed Happy.
Happy's strategy works against every top player in the world, except Infi (when he's not afraid of Happy and picks HU against him) and The Warchief himself (which is fucking bad matchup for UD anyway).
He needs something way more radical than good old Ted strat and godlike micro to defeat those guys.
And for those who crying about UD being OP... then why the fuck the only successful two UD players on top tier pro scene are just Happy and 120?

Infi stopped playing human because they’re so weak/hard to win with, and recently stopped playing Warcraft 3 completely because the balance is so bad

As a 9-years follower of starcraft 2, I'm gonna say these moves of infi are the most starcraft-ish plays i've ever seen in a warcraft match.
Also I really don't mean to throw wet blanket but it feels like Happy's involvement in starcraft is kind of overhyped a little in your casts. I mean Thorzain and Kiwikaki and (maybe, arguably) Grubby were more dominant than Happy in their starcraft days and yet their warcraft 3 performance are underwhelming in comparision.

Tanks should not be lifted by Zeppelins, logically. Or at least take all 8 slots per 1 tank, if lifted. And also increase some xp for destroying it.
Watching this clash for the 2nd time.Happy must expand on his own before tanks and zeppelin drop or he will lose 100% each time because infi knows how to fortify the expo and defend with heroes only...

I understand the matchup is imba favoring the UD, but I've seen tanks lame strat against other races for years too in professional play. Not much fun to watch.
Granted he knows happy pushes t3 asap from t2, and will almost always dk into lich in the matchup when he should have mass t2 rush with fiend and stats. The tank strat works if the UD chooses to hold and tech to t3.
I've just always found this strat to be not enjoyable to play, play against, or watch even. Isn't there potential with thorzain pally/rifle?
Happy should had make 12 ghouls with frenzy in the base to kill off these tanks. pretty good at killing these. plus a few towers to slow them down along the road

why didn't happy run into the main? instead he always focused on the branch. Infi's play was smart, but boriiiiiing to watch.... ugh...every time tanks jumped out, I wanted to close my browser.
the main is even harder to kill than the expansion, he just has no time for that.. and unlike some other humans, Infi did build towers in the main, too.
Happy made the overview of those games. He said he had to choose where to go main or exp by coin flip that is 50/50. And 2 times he'd chose wrong.
vice versa, happy game n stratergy being use are boring n all the same as usual, if not infi there provoking him, i would be sleeping as well.

Happy himself on his own stream said that tanks are fine and he has more issue with other buffs human has received. He just got rekt by tanks in a pro game for thousands of dollars, and he thinks they're fine.
tanks need more attack damage and speed, they also need attack land units also.

After watching this game again I don't know how happy felt playing against Infi's ridiculous annoyance I would've died from stress Infi played so annoyingly Archmage constantly blizzarding acolytes, tanks poping out of nowhere destroying buildings, expo everywhere can't really catch the human army and when he destroy a base another one pops up Happy must've lost some hair during this game.

Still to this date, I don't think that anyone ever has matched Infi's performance here as Hum vs UD. I believe these 3 games should be studied in university.
? That's like every infi game from 2009. The only difference is that nowadays you build less towers and add knights instead of gryphons. After people figured out how to beat 3 workshop tanks Sky and Infi instantly swapped into 2 workshop + blizzard counterattacks. That was like in 2008-2010 I don't remember exactly. Old school Infi/Sky fans remember.
Th000 must get a pen and a paper an take notice from infi ^^.Romantic also win few games against Happy but he invests too much into footman when he should make more peasents for lumber to rush into t3 knights and face undead into straight fight.

To counter that its tier 2 mass fiends statues 2 heroes rush.... I wonder why happy ISNT playing like that...
He has insane micro skill but sometimes hes very dumb... that tactic is know for 10 years already.. and is the only counter.
IF happy knew "WHO IS TED ?" the guy who got the best strategy vs ORC and HUMAN he would have won this....
tier 3 + lich is not the optimal vs human expo/towers... happy seems to forget that.

Only way to defeat infi tank stray is to mass ghoul early game and just finish him.
u know how quickly water elementals + AM kill ghouls? It would be very difficulty for Happy. Ghouls have 2 less armor and almost 100hp less than footmen, so, tier 1 footmen > tier 1 ghouls. I'd like to see Happy try it to keep Infi honest with the tier 1 fexpo but ghoul rush isn't seen often in pro-level.
ghoul strats has been cracked since 2006. It won't do the trick against veteran human like infi
I mean happy can also dl ghoul expand early game to have a big advantage but he don’t want change his fiend dk strat.theres way to defeat infi.

zeppelin, tank drop, focus Necropolis, Happy have no answer for these combo, period.

Coil nova is imba.. UD is extremely hard to fight. Human needs expo just to compete with UD. Give storm bolt aoe damage and slight stun. See how u like it😂
