- Dr. Radhika Chopra, a doctorate in Music and one of the reigning voices of Delhi stage..also extremely popular internationally as a Ghazal Singer, graced a private mehfil hosted by me in 2009. We invited Mubarak Begum to sing from an era goneby. Mubarak Begum sang that evening but also regaled us with many of her treasured experiences with anecdotes about the tragedy queen Meena Kumari, Mallika e tarannum Noorjehan, the immortal Mohammad Rafi etc. The surprise of the evening was a spontaneous rendition by Padmashree Shanti Hiranand of Begum Akhtar's ghazal Ai Mohabbat Tere Anjaam pe...and a traditional dadra: Hum Ri Atariya Pe

The show is supposed to be for mubarak begum saheba but had i attended the show, this song of k.l.saigal saab has been so well sung by this lady that it would already be paise wasool for me after listening to her.
